If I'm eating Mexican fare, I want it authentic, not some Americanized chain. So when I saw local workers lining up in Leo's, I knew I had to try it. The restaurant is clean and pleasantly dated, with a heavy wood counter, wood chairs and tables. The service is immediate and friendly. I was craving nachos, so I got an order with Carne asada. Great food(tacos are $1.25 Tuesday and Friday) A great selection of beers on tap ($1 Tuesday and Friday)! I'd add a picture to the review but it was so good I didnt have time. ... Update 8 years since my first visit.. STILL AMAZING.. still only $1.75

If you're in Long Beach check this place out. It's off the beaten path and not as glitzy as the downtown area a block away but we've come here two years in a row during our daughter's regional cheer competition. The staff has always been super friendly and the food is on point. Plus, they have decent prices on HUGE beers and their micheladas are stellar.
