For years we drove down there from the IE and were very pleased with the food. Good tasting and good portions! Since the remodel, the quality has gone down and the portions are much smaller - very disappointing. No more special trips for us . . .

Based on the reviews, Katella Bakery, Deli and Restaurant is a Southern California treasure. The remodel is nothing short of spectacular. It is a classic east coast deli style with a great bakery attached and a wide menu. Everything on the menu is delicious, flavorful, and filling. The sandwiches are excellent, especially the Pastrami and Corned Beef on fresh rye bread, the Reuben sandwich, and the brisket. The Chicken Pot Pie is a most favorite dish. The bakery can’t be beat; a favorite is the black and white cookie. The service is great, with classic bartender experience from Sal and Jason, and kind staff like Ashley and Sam. The only failure is it is too successful and busy some days, so watch out on a weekend to manage wait times. It is also great for takeout. A little pricey but not unbearable.
