“It’s pretty easy to see why this place has been in business for so long I obviously love coming to new places and trying new things, but today was a special treat rare is the occasion that I get to try bread right from the bakery that made it I stopped in at Pollys by accident but the first thing I noticed for the delicious pies and the clientele because not only is it a bakery but it’s a restaurant! they keep their menu pretty straight to the point but the flavor of the bread and the quality and the texture is just amazing I had to try the Ryebread with some of their home churn butter it reminded me of the stuff I used to see on TV when people actually made their butter… It was delicious the smooth creamy butter mixed in with the flavor of the Ryebread made the 599 a pansy almost like I was ripping them off the staff was very friendly and the store was very clean this looks like a wonderful place for an early dinner or an incredible breakfast but the next review is gonna be about the chocolate cream pie because I imagine that something that should be smoked in a pipe it’s so good!“

The place is known for his take-out more than dining in . There are about 6 tables only if you had a small party of 4-6 guests.

“I stopped in for morning coffee everyday visiting, fresh brewed coffee was excellent. You first walk in you can grab a tray with tongs and visit the display cases and pick and choose which items you would like to purchase. They also have pre-made breakfast sandwiches which are a shareable size for a very good price. They also will warm it up for you. Definitely a place to stop by for fresh pastries, cakes and cheesecakes. Also have fresh jams for sale.

“This place is truly a gem, the quality in these desserts is incredible. The only complaint my family has is the portion size. The cake should all be cut to fit the size of the container as this is standard at any bakery that sells tres leches. If not the whole container at least keep a consistent size, we have bought multiple times in the past 3 months and plenty for our family and neighbors to try the different flavors of cakes and desserts and this is the one thing that stood out.

Not to mention, the desserts are definitely overpriced in general/vs the local competition in Downey. Portos and Tropicana have a wider recognition in the city and a large clientele and their prices are lower across the menu. You can get a trio which is a huge slice of cheesecake/tres leches/flan for under $6 and here at Papa Churros a slice of either is $6. If people will support Papa Churros due to quality and taste at least give the customers their moneys worth.

As I stated the quality is great, they definitely have a good baker making some great products from scratch back there. I highly recommend but try to get a slice of something in person vs ordering online for pickup or delivery.“

“I stopped by Star Bread in Anaheim specifically to try their famous Senorita Bread after seeing it all over an Instagram reel, and it definitely lived up to the warm hype!
You get a bag of 5 for $4, which is a fantastic deal. They serve them to you piping hot, making the bread incredibly soft and pillowy. Flavor-wise, they are pretty good—sweet, slightly buttery, with a hint of cream cheese and a caramelized sugar texture. While I wouldn't say they are absolutely life-changing, eating them fresh and hot right out of the bag makes them a delicious treat.
I also tried the Ube Donut, which was really good and had a great flavor profile.
A few practical perks:

“Stumbled on this Mexican bakery while in Norwalk but glad I did! I’ve had pan Dulce from soooo many different places but the BEST is here (tasty, soft, fresh) … not to mention the cleanliness of the shop. Definitely 5 stars!!! Parking can be a bit challenging but people go in and out so you will not be waiting too long and don’t forget to bring cash - cash only. Will definitely come back!!“

“Seriously, one of the best breakfast burritos I've had, and don't even get me started on the tortas. So good!

I usually get a chorizo and egg breakfast burrito, adding chilaquiles and avocado. For the torta, I go for a milanesa torta, also with chilaquiles, and it's a ton of super delicious food. You really can't mess it up. The service is awesome, and the wait time is usually super quick. So, I totally recommend hitting up Tito's for their breakfast burritos or tortas de milanesa. And don't forget to add your favorite chilaquiles! Plus, the prices are really fair.“

“Brizuela's came up in searches so we decided to try it. First off, the bread is delicious! Do recommend. However, gave it 4 stars because of the experience. They had a big selection of bread but it's really hard to see the bread stacked on trays because you are not allowed to get close to it, the cashier selects the bread for you. We normally pick the pieces we want at any other shop, so we were not fond of that part. They section off the bread and there's only room for 2 people in the store. Also, they charge .99 cents extra for use of debit or credit card transactions.“
