About Barra Santos

Barra Santos is a cozy Portuguese restaurant that offers exceptional food and drinks. The menu features delicious dishes such as crudo, including the popular Tuna Crudo, tomato salad special, branzino, and chicken thighs with a flavorful piri piri sauce. The branzino is particularly praised for its perfect crisp skin, and the potatoes served with aioli are a delightful addition. The wine selection focuses on Spanish and Portuguese varieties. Desserts are also a highlight, though some guests wish coffee was offered to pair with them. The service is quick, efficient, and unbelievably friendly, creating a cozy and casual European restaurant vibe. While the portions are on the smaller side, the overall experience and ambiance make it well worth a visit. The restaurant is owned by a nice guy, Mike Santos, and it is always super clean. Customers can make reservations or just walk in, and there is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating. The bread is also highly praised, and the ARROZ DE PATO CONFIT DUCK LEG, with BOMBA RICE, SOFRITO, CHORIZO, and DUCK CRACKLINGS are a must-try.

Great atmosphere in Barra Santos. Decor is on point and the food is great. We had great service from a bartender called Andrew, who made us great drinks and took care of our group really well. Would recommend!

Food is OK - it’s nothing special & I feel
like the wait for your meal (after you have already been sat) can be really inconsistent. It’s good! But not exceptional

It's my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, and I make sure to take EVERY SINGLE GUEST to Barra Santos, they absolutely love it. As a Brazilian (with a lot of Portuguese influence), I always get the Bolinho de Bacalhau with a cold beer (insanely not expensive), sit on the sidewalk, and pretend I'm in Rio. The Arroz de Pato is the perfect winter meal, and the piripiri is a MUST have. The extended room is so cozy, we sat there with older guests on a summer afternoon and it felt...read full review
