Reviews for Gish Bac

Worst customer experience ever! We waited over an hour only to get one of our dishes. If we could leave no stars we would! They said they were prioritizing the to go orders first! I have never experienced such an awful restaurant service this bad before!! And the parking wow! Might was well not even have one! It's so narrow and only fits 6 vehicles! And at the end we just walked out without even eating, only one out the four of us ate!

Part of this place strikes it just right-- solid Oxaxacan food, friendly service, a comfortable, simple atmosphere. Salsas aren't going to win any awards, but they are quite good, the hot chocolate is similar-- tasty enough that it definitely hits the spot. And breakfast is all day! But something about it also doesn't quite rise enough out of the ordinary. 3.5*. Not sure whether or not to round up or round down.

Finally made it out to Gish Bac to try their barbacoa and mole, and so happy we did. The mole negro was by far the best I've tried in LA so far (four Oaxacan restaurants and counting). It was silky smooth with a bit of heat and chocolate finish, and perfectly complemented the thinly sliced chicken breast and large soft tortillas they served it with. The barbacoa was also wonderful, soft and deeply flavorful without feeling too heavy. The space was nicely decorated full review
