Considering how big Union Station is and how many Amtrak trains pass through daily, I expected the lounge to be bigger. It gets REALLY crowded quickly, and the food/drink options are very limited.
Despite posted hours that it was open all day, the Metropolitan Lounge was not open when we arrived after returning a rental car in the late morning. We were forced to pay $20 per bag to store bags elsewhere before exploring downtown Los Angeles..which was, honestly, a dump (what happened to you, LA?!). Saving grace was the lovely attendant when the lounge was actually open. Kudos to her, and thank you for saving an otherwise sad day in LA.
Nice waiting area. Plenty of snacks and drinks. Across the street from the old Pueblo of Los Angeles. Great food and shops and art galleries
