Love from Jersey, we were there for lunch, everything was delicious, from the pancakes, potatoes, grilled cheese, tomato soup, blueberry muffins, coffee, and we took some home too, highly recommend and our our server Allyn was so nice, friendly, we shared a story or two, exactly what we wanted, exactly what we needed :)
Ok! So, we visited this place during the holiday season (2 days ago) and boy was it busy. We arrived at 9:15am and we couldn’t get table so we opted to go on the waiting list and was told around 1 hour 30 so we decided to go with it and walked the neighbourhood, which is stunning. We went back 1 hour later to see if there was any change and it was still just as busy. We took a menu and watch the tables and we noticed that 3/4 table for two wasn’t used for over 1 hour….....read full review

Max & Helen's is a popular and vibrant restaurant located in Larchmont, known for serving breakfast all day in a cozy, old-school diner setting. The atmosphere is warm and immersive, making guests feel comfortable whether they sit inside at the bar, at the counter, or outside at the tables. The place is often busy, especially on weekends, and can have long wait times, but visitors appreciate the friendly staff and lively vibe that adds to the experience.
The menu features classic breakfast dishes with a modern twist, highlighted by standout items like the waffle with maple butter, which many consider one of the best they've ever had. The waffle is crispy on the edges, sweet and savory, and often paired with sausage or beef patties for a delicious combination. The eggs are silky and well-cooked, reminiscent of French-style preparation. The cinnamon roll is fluffy and topped with melty icing, highly recommended for its divine texture. Tallow fries are crunchy and flavorful, although slightly oily due to the generous use of butter and oil in cooking.
Beverages include excellent hot chocolate, described as rich and akin to sipping a melted chocolate bar, topped with roasted marshmallow fluff. The coffee is notably affordable at $2.75 for refills, adding to the overall value. Service is friendly and attentive, with staff willing to offer options and help customize orders, such as substituting waffles for pancakes. Overall, Max & Helen's delivers great food, friendly hospitality, and a fun, classic diner experience worth visiting despite the potential wait during busy times.
