This was my first time having *real* matcha and oh boy was I not prepared. The employees were very nice and answered all of my questions, and the vibe in the place was super cozy and cool, but it's was so busy there was barely room to stand, and the matcha was tiny (and had a ton of ice) and was quite costly. I'll continue to come here because it's delicious, though.
Keep coming back for the milk bun and latte. Amazing!

Modu Cafe is a popular destination in LA that offers a unique dining experience. The cafe's minimalist interior features an airy, open layout and ample seating, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The menu at Modu Cafe features a variety of items, including the hojicha mochi muffin, black sesame dark chocolate cookie, boricha madeleine, ssuk pound cake, yuja passionfruit spritz, and matcha tonic. Each dish is carefully crafted to balance flavor, with a subtle sweetness that allows the primary ingredients to shine.
The cafe has a modern, clean aesthetic with yummy Asian-inspired treats. Customers have praised the delicious chocolate mochi brownie, miso cinnamon roll, and soft, not-too-sweet cream bun. The drinks and pastries are not only visually appealing but also taste amazing, complementing the cafe's Asian minimalist vibe. The pastries are praised for being the perfect "not too sweet" Asian-style desserts.
While the prices may be on the higher side, the overall experience at Modu Cafe is often worth the wait. Guests can enjoy their meals in a talkative but not overly loud environment, and the cafe even allows dogs inside. However, be prepared for potential crowds and limited parking, which may require a short walk. Overall, Modu Cafe is a great destination for adventurous foodies and those looking for a unique dining experience.
