About Thai Coconut

Thai Coconut is a nice gem that offers authentic Thai dishes in the Highland Park and Eagle Rock area. The staff goes out of their way to make the dining experience pleasant, with waiters being super attentive. The owner, P'Nancy, creates a welcoming environment, taking the time to introduce herself to new customers. While the building could use some remodeling, the parking is better than going to Thai Town in Hollywood. The food is generally tasty and flavorful, with standout options like the Spicy Pompano (a whole deep-fried pompano served with chili sauce), chicken satay, Pad Thai, and papaya salad, which is spicy and fresh. Though it may not be the absolute best Thai food in the area, Thai Coconut is a solid choice for those craving authentic Thai cuisine, especially with lunchtime deals and a wonderful dessert like mango with rice.

Renovated, good food, friendlier staff and reasonable prices.

I have not visited this restaurant in several years and over a few changes in management. My recent visit was to try a seafood curry dish that is a little difficult to find and I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy it. The dish is called Haw Mok Talay and it was good. Also had their crab noodles and duck stir fried with basil leaves. All dishes were homey and delicious!

Decided to try this place out last night and its was amazing. The lady that helped us was so sweet and did not judge us on the amount of food we ordered. The food was the best thai we have had and we go to a lot of thai restaurants because of all the flavor it had. We got the spicy basil fried rice, orange chicken (crispiest orange chicken I've ever had), Kung pao beef, chow main, yellow curry, and pad see ew. We had tons of left over and it was still delicious for lunch today....read full review
