Van Dyke Coffee LA is a large, trendy cafe with a good variety of baked goods and a spacious seating area. It is set in a large hall with high ceilings and nice decor, set up as a study space with large rectangle tables, small circle tables, and bar seating. The environment is great and lovely for sitting with coffee, though it can be echo-y and overstimulating due to the concrete walls. It is often buzzing and packed, described as a genuine satellite campus for the local university.

The Dutch latte is a highlight and a must-visit item, coming with a stroopwafel; the mix of cinnamon and salted cream is a great combo, rich and delicious. Other recommended drinks include the chestnut latte, the Double Mango Matcha which is refreshing and unique, the strawberry matcha, and decent matcha lattes. They also have pour-over options and sell beans, including Brazilian coffee from Minas. For food, the pistachio croissant is great. The place has a friendly and personable staff.
