Vespaio is a popular spot for pre-theater meals, offering swift and impeccable service. The food is fantastic, with beautiful presentation. The menu features highlights like the grilled octopus appetizer, grilled bronzino, and homemade ravioli with kale and ricotta in brown butter sage sauce. The pacheri bolognese and risotto with steak au jus are excellent, and the scallops wrapped in guanciale with mushrooms is a great appetizer choice. The chef prepares the best rare filet mignon in LA, and the veal chop with porcini mushrooms is terrific, thick, and very moist. While some may find the noise level overwhelming, the lively atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of many guests dressed up for nearby performances. The restaurant has a full cafe, restaurant, and bar. The service is outstanding, gracious, and knowledgeable, helping to create a relaxed, warm environment. Guests appreciate the kind and helpful staff. A 10% discount is offered with an opera ticket.
