Wakaba is a hidden gem offering amazing sushi for a good price. The staff is so nice, warm, attentive, and friendly, with contagious smiles. The sushi is flown in from Japan yet reasonably priced, and the fish quality is insane. Highlights include the sashimi sampler with dry aged pieces that are buttery and fresh, plus a huge, tender, and smoky yellowtail collar. The menu offers an extensive variety of sake and a familiar yet exciting selection of sashimi, sushi, and hot dishes. The interior is clean and modern while staying intimate and approachable. The dry aged pieces and fresh Japanese fare are unmatched in the La Brea area. The sushi alone is well worth the price of admission. A 10/10 for quality and quantity.
