I'm starting to wonder if everything in this two-tiered strip mall is excellent? I stopped into Tahntawan on the advice of a client I was working for in the nearby canals neighborhood. I was not disappointed. The seafood chowder made for an excellent lunch. Mussels, squid, fish and shrimp in an excellent coconut broth. Great food and the service is always great. We've been coming here weekly for a few years now and think it's a hidden gem. The drunken noodles and pineapple curry are amazing.

Super solid neighborhood spot for some affordable comfort food. Ate indoors and the staff were so quick, friendly, and accommodating. They have both a cute indoors and outdoor seating. Pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup were good, very comforting and solid dishes. Very affordable too which is hard to find now on the west side. Moderate size parking lot, and also has street meter parking right outside the parking lot. Will probably come back for some nice takeout food.
