Well today was finally the day. I got the fried pork belly and poached chicken combo plate and even with already incredibly high exaggerated expectations this exceeded them. maybe I was just starving, but it was genuinely some of the best food I’ve had since moving out here. “I finally checked out Summer Buffalo after my sister kept raving about it had to see what the hype was about! I ordered the tofu pad Thai with extra sauce and the mango sticky rice.
The pad Thai was solid the extra sauce definitely helped. The mango sticky rice was good but I wish it was juicier? Maybe a bit more of the coconut sauce could’ve made it less dry. That said, the space itself is really cute dark, cozy, with a nice ambiance. And the staff is SO sweet and welcoming. Seriously, thank you for being so kind!

“This place is serious. Got the Pad see ew (they call it pad Z ew lol), tom kha with chicken, vegetable egg rolls, and mango sticky rice. Everything was excellent. Not good, excellent. You know that scene in Ratatouille at the end of the movie when the big food critic takes a bite and gets that flashback to his childhood? That warm, comforted, happy feeling? That’s exactly how this food made me feel.

It was hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite tasted like real family, home-cooked love not just restaurant food.

The service was incredible. The woman there packed up my leftovers for me (something even a lot of “nice” restaurants don’t do), opened the door when I left, and even offered to let me borrow an umbrella because it was still raining.

If you want authentic, family-style Thai food that makes you feel something, this is the spot.
