“One of my all time favorite spots to play pool, bartenders are great, they don’t gouge you for the drinks while having a nice selection of beer and whiskey. Security does a phenomenal job especially when the place is busy and they’re super friendly. With a pinball machine, shuffleboard, and darts it’s tough not have fun while you’re there.“

“Heck ya!! What a fabulous dining experience! It’s a cozy restaurant in downtown Martinez. Definitely recommend making reservation as this place can be super packed esp. during live music hours. Everything we ordered, from their daily specials, to locally sourced ingredients give you a farm to table kind of dining venture. The house cocktails are refreshing-ly good. “The food is delicious I’ve had almost everything on the menu in the past year that they’ve been open. Two of my favorites are the chicken sandwich & the deep fried Oreo dessert. The staff are all so friendly & welcoming. The bartenders make the best cocktails & are always coming up with new yummy drinks to try. The location has an amazing outdoor patio perfect for the beautiful martinez weather along the creek.

“I stopped by during a transfer at Martinez Station. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly service. The BBQ pork fried noodles and wonton soup were also delicious, and I'll definitely visit again if I have the chance.“

“Totally worth the drive to fish and see Barbara when they open for lunch.. Barbara is totally awesome. Cash only don't worry. There is ATM in the back. Large food and alcohol selection. We had no problems finding a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of amazing outside seating looking at the lake. Side note my friend comes here occasionally and fishes on the straight. He took me here today and we almost caught a Sturgeon together.“

“My wife and I went there for the first time for dinner and we ate in the main dining room which is only 3 tables! It was dark and moody with excellent jazzy Christmas music. Our server, Denzel, was the right amount of attentive, the food was super tasty and well prepared. We will be back. We want to definitely try the weekend brunch.“

“I didn't have any food, so I went here on a Friday night to meet a friend. I had never been to cricket before and now I wanna go back. This bar Toots is a big part of why I wanna go back, it's an amazingly cool dive bar with a back room stage for live music. Last night when I went it was a punk rock band and they were really good. The crowd as you might imagine was colorful and surprisingly diverse. The bar keep was friendly and on it so my drink was never empty, they had a really good porter on tap and it was always filled completely to the rim where you have to sip the top down just to pick it up. I wish I had stayed longer to see how the scene goes, my feeling is it's a great place to hangout on a Friday night, and if you happen to get bored there's like another bar a block or so away you can go between. I saw several small groups of peeps just hanging out together up n down the main drag. Parking might be an issue so either go early or Uber. I loved it!“

However, we overheard the long haired male employee, I think his name was West, speaking negatively about a group of people sitting on the couch throughout the night. He seemed to be upset about where they were sitting. Kinda ruined our vibe but we had a good time and we'll be back.“

“This is a five star review from someone who doesn’t even like beer. The bartenders here are either very good at what they do or performing some kind of sorcery, but somehow they always manage to find something that I enjoy!

The beer selection on tap and in the fridge is super broad, really high quality, and constantly changing; the atmosphere is laid back; you can bring your own food in; and dogs are allowed! Their regular trivia nights and other events are always a good time as well.

Tucked away in a parking lot off of the main street. Turn down sos drive and left into the parking lot halfway down the hill, and you'll find it.“

I got stuck in this commercial cesspool for four and a half hours and wandered around for 3 of them trying to find decent food worth the price or some store that wasn't marked up for garbage. No dice. Finally found this place tucked away, so thankful. Had a couple drinks and chatted with old locals. Definitely support this place. In general I'll be avoiding the area but if I ever find myself there again I'll definitely go in for a drink and to get a brake from the depressing retail area outside.“

“Great vibes, terrible cocktails. It's all just crappy pre-made or horrific ratios with monstrosities of ingredient quality. Stick with anything canned or be around tap unless you want to just do shots. I would be happy to pay a couple more bucks for an actual craft cocktail made with quality made by a mixologist. Besides that, the customer service is awesome, the rules and regs are more than understandable, and when they bring in live music you're into, it's a really good time. Overall it's a great place, just stay away from the cocktails... Unless you're a Jack and Coke kind of person, then I will not be having cocktails with you regardless lol. Glad to have this place in the creek, been here a few times and it's always good times.“

Doesn't appear many people have figured that out yet.“

The service was pretty slow. It was a Tuesday night, and there were a max of 10 tables with people. There’s no reason it should take 20min for a drink.“

“While I hate to cheat on Martinez, CJ's is a larger, more sophisticated but not too, version of our once Ferry Street and a far less dysfunctional version of Whiskey Lane, the latter of which I frequented to write until I found CJs where you can meet new great people, or sit in your corner and write. All folks are good folks at CJs. And that's my run on sentence on that matter.“
