“I have traveled the world (including Vietnam) searching for the best tofu banh mí and I have yet to find a better one than Donut King in Merced. They bake their own sandwich bread and the tofu is incredibly flavorful. They dont skimp on the veggies and cilantro either. The donuts are also melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The price point is excellent. Service is friendly and its run by a local family. Only 2 tables to eat at so I usually carry out. I love Donut King and its the first place I stop whenever I come back to visit.
Vegetarian options: Tofu banh mi without paté is vegetarian/vegan“

“Love their veggie sandwich on croissant. I think I might be the only person who orders it- not too many vegetarians around Merced. Anyway, the sandwich is better than Subway and Togo's too!
Last time I visited though I got a bagel and cream cheese. Seemed kinds pricey, but is probably same everywhere. Everything is so danged expensive.
The staff are always fast and courteous. Food is always fresh and delish. Love that they are (one of only a handful of) open 24 hours. Sometimes I can't get a sandwich made because there aren't enough workers and they don't want to make other customers wait, and that sucks. But it's good enough that I go back later for that sandwich!“
“When you are 1st walking in, it does not smell like old grease like some donut shops. And the people behind the counter are very helpful. The bacon Maple doughnut was good.“

“We got a dozen donuts and, I have to say they were fresh and delicious . I had gone to yum yums donuts and, the bear claw I got was still raw in the middle and I had eaten it. You're not supposed to eat raw eggs they'll make you sick, and that's exactly what it did I had stomach cramps . I suggest you don't go to yum yums.“
