this place has THE BEST teriyaki chicken I've ever had in my life I highly recommend and it's for a reasonable price as well. my favorite thing to get from here is a teriyaki chicken plate and a cream filled donut :)
The second-best donut in Modesto is hidden at this hole-in-the-wall shop. The cake donut is just a teeny bit crisp on the outside (so, different in style from Mr. T's) and fluffy on the inside. Selection is varied but not huge -- the strength seems to be in cake and old-fashioned donuts. On my visit, there were also apple fritters and three varieties of filled donuts. Life brought me and my family to Empire and it was a delicious lunch choice. We would always order the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. Always nice warm service by Tony and wife. They will be missed. Can't wait to go back.
