If you want to taste Taiwanese style cooking, this is the right place to visit. Recommend.

MOMo Bistro in Monrovia, known for its Taiwanese cuisine, greeted us during lunchtime with a few occupied tables. The allure of lunch specials starting at $10 led us to try the Kejia mixed veggies and dried squid strips, along with eggplant with basil. Unfortunately, both dishes lacked the expected flavorful punch. The minimal service was disappointing; attempting to flag down a server proved challenging. Regrettably, this experience falls short of previous visits, and it seems the restaurant might have undergone changes. It's unlikely we'll return to MOMo Bistro based on this visit.

The most authentic Taiwanese cuisine in the SGV. Very friendly staff here. Highly recommend making a reservation as it gets busy fast, especially during the weekends. We came here for a birthday celebration and ordered lots of traditional dishes. It used to be a bakery/deli so the decor is very simple. They use rattan chairs! Take advantage of the free beer offer (dine in only) with every $30 purchase. If you don't drink beer, you can ask for a soda instead.

This whole in the wall just YES. Parking is really horrible it's super busy but if you find parking you're good. Thankfully there wasn't a long line when we arrived! But as soon as we sat it got busy. The stir fried tofu, the fried chicken, the Taiwanese noodles and the sautéed veggies are to die for. Most the workers speak only mandarin. There was so many dishes to pick from.

Very tasty and authentic taiwanese food! Never had any complaints about the service, but I usually come with people who know the cook and waitstaff well, so I'm probably not the best judge in that department. The eel sticky rice is really yummy, the squid with 5 flower sauce(?) is also good, and the soups are really good. They also have a lot of to go freezer items and lunch specials. (The food pictures might not be part of the regular menu, those are more what they've bought for the day/know the staff well type situation)

Nice food but terrible service, the waiter is asking us for more tips even though there are no such thing as good service and they forgot one dishes that we ordered. Plus, waiting time is super long. Considering the service might not come back again.

It's been many years since I came here, and the last time I came, Momo was under different ownership and gave us a less than pleasant experience. Finally, we came back to give this place a shot. We arrived for a weekday lunch. Around 12:30, they were fairly busy with just a few tables available. Service was pleasant and prompt. We placed our orders and got water quickly. All of our orders came out at the same time, which is a plus for a hungry guy. Their beef satay had plenty of flavor with tender chopped beef and green veggies. The fish filet in bean sauce isn't like many of the HK places. This was lighter in color, had great flavor with sautéed garlic in a mildly spicy sauce. So good with rice. Bean curd with pork strips and celery was also good. There were bits of squid and some pieces were a bit chewy, but the flavor was also good. We also noticed they have fried taro, which according to the Mrs., is hard to find in the SGV. It's a Taiwanese thing. The order came with 16 pieces and arrived to our table hot and crispy. It has a slight chewy consistency and a creamy sweet taro flavor. They also sell frozen dumpling, wontons, XLB and buns. Prices for each varies so ask them. It seems like they're good sellers, soI'll try those once I can make room in my freezer. During peak hours or weekends, the parking lot can be packed, with the Good Fortune market and other eateries bringing in the crowd. Just be careful as there are plenty of lousy drivers who also lack parking skills. I'm so glad we came back to try Momo under its new ownership to get a taste of their comforting Taiwanese cuisine.
