We walked in to give it a try on March 4th for a drink stayed till live band finished then went back the next night to have a drink and enjoyed it even more even though I was semi raining I'm glad I had my umbrella because we where at the outside patio under a warm warmer and a very nice fire I front of us. Midday thirst. Laid back with average beer selection. Wife and I stay at the inn across the street regularly however this was a first visit.
Great pub food, pool tables, dart boards, plenty of TVs, cool bartenders, awesome patio. Now they have live music on the weekends...keeps getting better!

The Salty Seal is a best little dive bar on Cannery Row, popular with locals and tourists. It has pool, darts, music, firepits, a dance area, and a nice outdoor patio. The atmosphere is great and the service is typically good. Staff are kind and the place is a well needed refuge on a hot day. It is a very fun hang with good vibes. On Monday nights, there is jeopardy trivia. The bar also has themed DJ nights, burlesque shows, and open mic nights. The highlight is the outdoor patio with fire pit. Fur babies are welcomed. Prices are fair and portions are fair. The food is good. The clam chowder is good. The Dark and Stormy Burger was terrible, greasy, and the patty had no spice. The fish tacos needed flavor. The rice and beans that came with it also lacked flavor. The beans felt like they fell from the can. The meal was missing seasoning. It is recommended for drinks and a fun time but not for dinner. The drink menu is nice.
