Very strange experience. Had to get the attention of the proprietor, served our own coffee in paper cups. But the awkwardness aside... seems like a place the local ladies meet up with friends to sit back with a cup of coffee and a treat.

Sugar Shack is a hidden gem located behind the Nevada City SPD, offering excellent baked goods, generous sandwiches, and specialty coffee drinks. This quaint spot serves lunch specials, including a Friday Hamburger featuring a burger, homemade bun, avocado, bacon, and fries for a great value. Enjoy their ham & cheese croissants, turnovers, and other treats in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Note: cash only, but a quick stop at SPD can solve that issue.
