To my absolute pleasant surprise I found ‘Tasteful Cakes’. They were not only 10 minutes away from my home, but they met every expectation that I held onto from my previous bakery. “It's the best bakery ever. I come from Idyllwild CA to Jurupa Valley it's an easy 50 miles just for the bread. They have all sorts of varieties from tamales, to o champurrado, they even have b'day cake. If you are in the area you should stop by and grab a few pieces of bread.“

“I went to this coffee shop for the first time a couple weekends ago with my girlfriend. Since I moved back to Riverside this summer, I’ve made it a point to try local businesses. I browsed the menu before I went, and I knew I had to go just based on the flavor options alone.

When I walked in, it was pretty busy. All the tables inside were occupied, and there were people hanging out in the outdoor seating area as well. Aside from the reviews, seeing all the people there had me feeling like I was in for a treat, and I was definitely right!

I ordered the Lavender Black & White and a coffee cake. My girlfriend ordered the Espresso Chip (blended latte). Both drinks were really tasty, especially the espresso chip. That one was sweeter than the lavender one. The lavender coffee is great if you like the taste of coffee with a hint of sweetness. I mainly tasted the lavender and coffee. If you enjoy lavender, this is a good option for you. The coffee cake was also delicious and the perfect amount of sweet and fluffiness.

The staff there is super nice. The cashier who rang us up even tried to rescue us from a bee that made its way inside the shop. If you’ve been thinking of giving this place a try, go for it! You won’t be disappointed.

NOTE: I saw several people had ordered the strawberries and cream drink. It’s a smoothie consistency, and it looked super tasty. Considering how popular it is, I’m sure it’s magically delicious! They have a section on the menu titled “If coffee’s not your thing,” so there’s a little something for everyone.

“Would love to give them 5 stars but every time I go in I end up getting bread that feels like it might be a few days old, nothing wrong with it just a bit harder than the bread baked the same day. If they would let customers know what bread is from a previous day it would be awesome, I go to bakeries for freshly baked bread not for day old bread“

“The pan dulce, bread, champurrado, and desserts are top notch. I know it’s a hole in the wall place, but it’s seriously the best kind of desserts! I’ve been going here for years. Even when they were at the old location by Los Portales in chino. I’ve also been to the other location by Los Portales in Montclair. They weren’t very talkative but they are fast. They do always say hi. My favorites are the arroz con leche, champurrado, birote with jalopeno and cream cheese, elotes, etc.
