“hands down one of the best cafes in the county and best cafe on a ridge in the world. Best juevos rancheros in or out of town. Favorite smoothie is the aloha w/ spirulina.I just had the best sandwich I’ve ever had here and I’ve lived on the ridge for ten+ years, it’s called the SEAN JUAN breakfast sandwich. In house pesto spread on fresh focaccia with tofu instead of the egg, avocado as the choice of protein, onions, local heirloom homegrown tomatoes, and melted cheese of your choice.vegan chipotle mayo on the side ?”
“Live Music several times a week. Extra Friendly Servers. Loud Music from the Juke box. Chef Garth is Amazing cook. Next Door to Mama's Pizza Parlor. ? I love this Place and they Booked a Pink Floyd Tribute Band May 27th. WOW ?.”
“Wow as a chef I will say the food is great the guy really knows his food. I saw some people complain about small stuff like the bathroom not being updated its not about a fancy restroom it's all about the food and they do a great job. It took us a while to get food but it is fine dinning so don't expect it to be quick the steaks a thick also so it's not like cooking a buger so please be patient and have a drink and injoy.”
“Absolutely loved our dinner at Lola while visiting Nevada City! The ambiance in this restaurant is amazing. Classy and well-done restoration both in the restaurant and walking through the hotel lobby. We went during a weeknight a few weeks after Christmas and didn't need a reservation for our party of four (we were seated right away). The bar also had an Irish band playing which gave our dinner a unique and fun vibe.Throughout dinner, our server was so attentive and helped to recommend items on the menu when we couldn't decide. We started with the Brussel Sprouts, which were incredible. For four people, we felt we needed two orders of the Brussel Sprouts, which turned out to be the perfect amount. For the main course, I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was prepared differently than other shrimp and grits I have had - The bell pepper relish on top of the grits gave the dish a well-balanced flavor. The portion size was large and I ended up taking almost half of my plate to-go. My partner ordered the salmon and loved it. I had a few bites and I'm usually picky with salmon, but agreed that this was cooked perfect. I enjoyed taking a few bites of the lentils that were a part of his dish as well! We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Nevada City!”
“This eatery is more than a bakery. We found it on yelp today and tried it for the first time. We ordered the chicken enchalada and fish taco meals. Both were very delicious and serving size was huge. I wanted to keep eating even when my belly was full! It comes with a basket of crispy tortilla chips, 1 red and 1 green sauce, a salad, Mexican rice, refried beans that stayed nice and hot in a perfect way thru the meal. The place is so cute, very clean and welcoming. Service is great and friendly. I wish we had discovered Cafe Rico sooner. It is now our new go-to for a wonderful and delicious Mexican meal. We highly recommend it. You will leave well fed and happy, happy!”
“This place is ridiculously good. By far the best breakfast burritos in town. This is a new location and it's a little hard to find at first but it's insane that there are not more people in here. It's the best.”
“This place is a super favorite. I live nearby and it’s our go-to; we are so grateful for the high quality, delicious, reasonably priced food, the no fuss walk up window and cool people. The juices are the best I’ve had literally anywhere. The tacos are amazing and they use tortillas created at the shop next door. What a gem.”
“Treats was such a great find! The shop is adorable and the staff were friendly. There was a wide selection of unique flavors. My friend and I got the Saffron and Pistachio and it was AMAZING. Just the perfect hint of saffron. Ingredients were super fresh.”
“Great food and great service! Plenty of vegan options as well. Awesome experience! I had the breakfast tacos and the vegan of the group had the breakfast burrito with tofu and beyond sausage. Would definitely go back.”
“I tried the tacos. $3 each. Good price. Garnished with radish and carrot and some type of cooked pepper. came with the standard cilantro onion and hot sauce. The only thing striking me as odd, i asked about Asada and the guy said beef? sure we have meat from the cows head and neck, also tongue. I assumed chopped up steak? ok. I survived it! 4 tacos and a bottle of water. Cheers!”
“There have been multiple Mexican restaurants in this location and this is my favorite so far. Their el-pastor is delicious and the polo asado street tacos are great! Make sure you try the spicy sour cream sauce on whatever you order.P.S. try the flan !”
“Stopped by this local favorite for lunch today...Roast Beef (aka Roast Beast) was spot on and solid, the French onion soup was a warm welcome after a long rainy week. I also left with a tub of the Kansas City BBQ sauce to augment some brined and smoked baby back ribs at home for dinner...also well worth the money at a price point equivalent to grocery store gourmet BBQ sauce. As the grandson of a professional meat cutter (40+ years), that cures meats on a hobby/craft level, and prepares about 1500 lbs of meat and over 100 gallons of BBQ sauce for public consumption every year, The Ham Stand is 100% what I'd expect and a lot of extra nuances that are well worth the money for local craftsmanship and attention to detail.”
“Loved our visit here earlier this year. We are from out of town and are so happy we came across this spot. Delicious drinks (my London fog latte was wonderful) and very tasty scones! It was around my birthday and the owner made me feel right at home! Will be back for sure on our next visit.”
“Went in for the 1st time on a stormy Saturday. Restaurant was mostly empty. Ordered the cheeseburger they had on special and it was delicious. 1/2 lb Patty, thousand island style sauce was great I went with everything but the onions. Service was prompt and friendly. Price for burger and a very generous amount of homemade fries was about $15. Well worth the visit. I will return and try out the Brats. ? Definitely a sports bar vibe with multiple TV's. Might be a good place to watch the 49ers whip the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII?”
“Excellent service, homey surroundings and super yummy sushi options! We found our new fav sushi restaurant in the Grass Valley area ?Vegetarian options: The Kappa Maki roll was our favorite... we also enjoyed the California Roll, and fresh salmon Philly Roll... amazing beverage options also!”
“Cute, charming atmosphere. Employees are kind and courteous. But the food is…AMAZING!I could have taken a better picture but the food was too great to wait. Definitely will be returning.”
“AFTER 20 YEARS, STILL THE BEST Chinese food hands down in Nevada City and Grass Valley area. A must try! Guaranteed you will Love. Very friendly place.Kid-friendliness: Total family feeling. ? family runs the restaurant. Warm feeling every time I see them! Great people! Support this establishment and all the locals! Hometown treatment!”
“The sushi was quite good, the service was great and the place had good ambiance. We showed up without reservations and that did lead to a hour+ wait, I wish the visibility on this was better but can't blame restaurant for it. The drinks were priced reasonably too. Loved it.”
“My mom works full time and has to drop me off at around 8:20, but my school doesn't start until 9:15. This is a nice place to stay when it's too cold and rainy to wait outside school. The coffee's great, too, and the staff are nice. Longest I've ever had to wait for coffee was five or ten minutes, and that was an outlier. It's not too expensive, either.”
“Great local pizza restaurant in Nevada City! Visited jan. 15th..see receipt. Huge medium combinatiion with a ton of toppings! The one trip salad bar is very small in size but it had everything i like in a salad. Its family run for 30 years and they still make one of the best pizzas in town! Ton of leftovers! 5 stars on the pizza and salad! Dine in or take out. Beer and wine also available”
“This is our weekly destination! About a year ago, my husband and I started a weekly happy hour date - we spend about an hour grabbing a beer and an appetizer while we chat and enjoy some time together. The Northridge is the perfect destination- their beer selection is great, the appetizers are always tasty (try the seasoned fries or artichoke cheese bread - both are sooooo yummy), and the staff is absolutely lovely. We love that we can grab our usual spot at the bar and 2 pints of our usual beer just appear before us without even having to order. The women who run the bar on weekend evenings are so awesome and always keep an eye out for us. Did I mention that all drinks served between 4-5pm come with a perfectly crisp slice of bacon balanced across your glass?! Do not miss this place if you want to eat awesome food, drink some cold beer, and enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere!”
“Delicious wines in a beautiful setting. The patio tables have small table top fire pits. A bountiful charcuterie board pairs well with wine flights. We enjoyed the all white flight and the reserve flight. The tempernallio and Barbara are outstanding.”
“Decent cocktail with really good prices. $12 a cocktail! Best of all, no cover charges and they have a DJ on weekends ?.Mix of and old crowd. People are having a good time here”
“Best early morning breakfast spot...and opens the earliest too. Great food and serviceVegetarian options: French fries, salads,Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room to get a wheelchair in”
“Amazing burger joint with every burger available in vegan or vegetarian option. Also an excellent vegan shake available. Great selection of fries; garlic, pesto, sweet potato.Vegetarian options: Most menu items available in vegan and vegetarian options”
“This cozy space is inclusive and has the most beautifully presented food. I got the Avocado toast on gluten-free bread and it was awesome! The staff is extremely friendly and customise your order to perfection.Vegetarian options: They customize their offerings the way you want it.Dietary restrictions: They customize for allergies and vegan and gluten-free diets. The presentation does not suffer due to what one orders.”
“I went here and drank the juice and it was really good. I bought a 2nd juice for the drive home, which I ended up spilling on my skirt but it didn't stain, no biggie. The owner is also really nice.”
“Tonight was Geezer Gig night, and the places was hopping, lots of locals and newbies alike. Awesome atmosphere, funky and cool with great live music. The food is high quality pub cuisine, and went enjoyed everything we've had so far(the artochoke spinach dip was my fav).I am definitely coming back soon.”
“Great food, authentic and priced well. Friendly staff. Seating is a little uncomfortable.. my elderly mother had a hard time on the stools. Would love to have tables and chairs. Gorditas were amazing!!”
“Loved this little spot we stumbled on passing through town. What a vibe!! Beautiful people friendly folks and good pizza! Unique flavors and creatively done. Slow down when you're driving by, there are alot of doggies around and pedestrian crossing. Thanks for the delicious pizza and kind energy!”
