Probably the best meal I’ve ever had, super fun, exciting, every bite was perfect. Intimate and fast process
absolutely worth it. I have eaten at many Michelin stars and similar hoity-toity spots. the food here is unquestionably on par. do yourself a favor: ask for some green tea along with your meal.

Delage offers an exceptional 8-course omakase experience, showcasing fresh daily fish and seasonal ingredients. Each dish is expertly prepared to balance flavors and textures, with surprising elements in each course. The nigiri is particularly impressive, with a build-up of complexity and umami. The restaurant is accommodating for dietary restrictions, and the chef, Chikara, along with the staff, are warm and welcoming. The cozy and intimate setting is simply decorated, focusing on the food and presentation, which makes for a delightful experience. Customers describe the food as meticulously and artistically prepared, reflecting the owner's passion and skill. The space is small and welcoming, with friendly wait staff. Dishes like Spotted Knifejaw and Sea Bream highlight the menu, which is praised for high-quality fish and creativity, such as the unique crystal bread. With a price of $125 for 9 courses, it’s a great choice for date nights or special occasions. Overall, Delage offers a fun experience with excellent sake pairing and a thoughtful use of local ingredients, making it one of the best Japanese restaurants in Oakland and the East Bay.
