First time going and trying the cinnamon rolls. Hands down the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had, and best food experience I’ve had since being in Oakland. I’ll definitely be returning in the future. Keep up the great work Betty and her team!
The fried chicken sandwich here is one of the best things that you can eat in Oakland. The chicken itself is tender, large, really nice to bite into with the flavorful breading. The bread is also perfect, slightly crunchy on the outside and then when you press it onto the chicken it flattens just like it should, and it absorbs the sauce without getting soggy. My favorite part is the jalapeño slaw which is fresh, crunchy, spicy, perfectly acidic to balance the fat of the fried...
An all time favorite of mine. The chicken sandwich is amazing, even five years later I am still obsessed. They have pickled onions in the slaw which to me is weird as I’m not a pickled onions person BUT it’s so good! I also highly recommend the shortbread chocolate chip cookies.
Betty is great and her workers are too. They are hard working and if you drive by you know it. The line is always down the street.
