Off the Hook Seafood & Super Burritos is a popular spot in downtown Oakland, known for its delicious seafood platters and fish fry. Despite its casual look and limited parking, the restaurant's flavorful dishes make it a worthwhile visit. The seafood platters are a highlight, with fried catfish being a favorite among regulars. The fish fry, made with a cornmeal crust, is a standout, featuring options like red snapper that's cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable, with a regular-sized order costing around $15, including tax. The staff, aside from the male owner, may not be very chatty, but they are friendly and welcoming once a rapport is built. Off the Hook has recently reopened after repairs, much to the delight of its loyal customers, and continues to be a great choice for those craving seafood in downtown Oakland.
