Peruvian Restaurants near Oakland, CA

“I was treating my good friend to a birthday dinner. She requested Peruvian food and this restaurant came up as one of the best in our area on a Google search. We sat at the counter and were able to watch the dishes being prepared. Very impressive presentation. Our waiter was very attentive, suggesting wine selections and answering questions about the dishes. The food was delicious! The seating area inside is small and intimate. They also offer outdoor seating. We'll be back!“

“The service was top notch. We told our waiter this one was our first time and he explained the menu for both food and drinks. He also opened the door for us when we exited. Service definitely gets 5 stars.

However, there’s something wrong with the price on the menu vs what you will be charged. We ordered from the lunch especial menu which says items were $ 17.99 but we were charged 20 for one item and 18 for other two dishes. And the beverages were supposed be $4 based on the menu but were charged $6. May be they updated the price and forgot to update the menu?

Anyways two of the dishes fried rice and Marinated pork dishes were very salty. The bed of pasta with fish was very good but I wished the fish was basked instead deep fried. Purple corn drink was pretty good the waiter said it will be sweet and it was. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, you don’t probably want it.

“This place is all about the food. Ignore the menu, it's just there to provide familiar options. Talk to your server. They'll find something for you that will delight. The decor is standard diner decor, it isn't the point. The seating looks like something from the 1950s, but again, the seating isn't the point. The food is the point, and the food is delightful.“

I am on the wagon, so I didn't indulge in the drink menu, but it looked fantastic. The atmosphere is intimate in the seating area, and vibrant in the bar space. “Hard to find with only a small sign in the window. It is located in a coffee bar. The food was good. Order at the counter and food is brought to table. I went with 3 friends and we enjoyed our shared meal. Minus one star because I was overcharged and not given the happy hour price for the item I ordered.“

“I rarely post reviews but had to chime in as this was such an outstanding experience with Lima Peruvian! I catered an event in my home and the food arrived on time, piping hot, carefully marked for ingredients and allergens and was just so delicious. I received countless compliments and requests from guests to find out where the food came from. The order included a mix of meat, meatless and vegan offerings that really hit the spot. In particular, the Loma Saltado, Aji de Gallina (Creamy Yellow Chicken), Seco de Pollo (Green Herb Chicken), Vegan Split Pea Amarillo and rice were outstanding. Thank you Lima Peruvian!“
