Mariposas Reviews
MY BEST DINING EXPERIENCE IN SF SO FAR (and I have lived here for a year)!
The food was so tasty and authentic. The drinks were perfection. And the servers and bartender really are fantastic. They make you feel like you are part of the family!
We also had a celiac friend and they were so accommodating in making different modifications so that dishes could be gluten free!!

The arroz con Pollo was excellent, so was the paloma.
Very nice place (next to Metreon IMAX!). Tasty Peruvian dishes. Looks like people from the diaspora frequent it, which is a very good sign that the food is authentic and good.

Mariposas is a Peruvian restaurant that offers delicious food and a unique decor with a rainforest vibe. Customers have particularly enjoyed the Lomo Saltado, noting the generous portion sizes, although some found it a bit salty. The staff is known for their friendly service, though some guests have mentioned that the service can feel off at times. The restaurant's location near Yerba Buena makes it a convenient choice for those seeking an authentic Peruvian dining experience. The decor, with its focus on butterflies, is a highlight for many visitors, though the high noise level can sometimes be a drawback. Mariposas remains a popular destination for those seeking delightful Peruvian cuisine in a vibrant and engaging setting. The restaurant has been praised for its Ceviche, with crispy calamari on top, and the Pisco Sour, which customers describe as "very dangerous". The Lomo Saltado, served on fries, is also a favorite, with the tender meat and delicious sauce. The atmosphere is fun, with neon butterflies on the walls and ceilings, and astroturf on the floor, giving the feeling of being in an outdoor garden.
