First time here for lunch. Chowder and fish tacos. Fish taco plate had three fish tacos, onion rings (not greasy), salsa. Everything was good. Generous amount of food on the taco plate. Nice that the corn tortillas were fried a little before it was put together. We'd come here again. Only outdoor seating. Was a windstorm today but a sheltered area ok for eating outside.
This place has the best Clam Chowder in Pismo! Splash Cafe is all about Butter, but Slappy's Clam Chowder you can taste the fresh ingredients! Will definitely be going back for more! The Tri-Tip is very good, but I am not a huge fan of their BBQ sauce, something tasted like Lawry's Seasoned Salt, which I dislike! Now I see why people prefer Tri-Tip in a Burrito! Super good Beer battered French fries come with the Sandwich.

This place was a cool and cozy spot, with amazing, fresh food. The clam chowder was delicious and made customers feel better. The food was beautiful and the service and atmosphere were always on point. The breakfast burritos and tacos were really good, though the chowder was a bit heavy on potato and less rich than some other spots. Overall, Slappy's Chowder House is a great choice for a casual meal with ocean views.
