“Came back to Old Towne Orange with friends for another round of eating, drinking, and wandering and of course, we had to stop by Zinc Café & Bar, a spot I stumbled upon last year and instantly fell in love with.

This place sits right inside the Plaza Historic District, an area that used to be the heart of Orange County’s early citrus industry. The building itself was built in 1922 and originally housed the Sunkist Orange County Fruit Exchange， yes, actual vintage orange history! 🍊

Zinc moved into this gorgeous building around 2023 as I remembered, and considering their first-ever location opened in Laguna Beach back in 1988, we came in with slightly higher expectations… and the vibes definitely delivered.

They’ve got a cozy patio where sunlight falls in just right, surrounded by a bit of greenery, perfect for slow brunch moments. Inside, they kept the original high ceilings and huge windows, and there’s even a small bar area you can reserve for private events. Overall, it’s giving that chic, modern American brunch energy without being too fancy. Totally the type of place you go to for coffee, tea, and long conversations.

We went all in on brunch and ordered:

• Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet (with potatoes)

Food was solid, portions were big—we were stuffed.

Service was friendly and chill. They checked on us just enough without hovering, which I really appreciated.

After brunch, we walked around Old Towne to admire all the Halloween decorations, people here go all out!😆

“The pizza & spaghetti lunch were really good! The meat sauce had plenty of meat ! The service was awesome.! The garlic bread 2 slices was hot and tastey ! My only complaint would be if someone spends $25 + tip for lunch when you ask for a couple more pieces of garlic bread to take home with my huge portions and they want to sell you a whole loaf! That was a turn off for me! Just give the customer more bread without a charge l could see if l was asking for a whole basket! Nickel & diming is never good! FYI“

“I came with my friend for the prefix valentines dinner for a 4:45pm reservation, over all the ambiance was great and the check in staff were nice. I'm not sure if it was the busy evening ahead but sadly we felt extremely rushed throughout the evening. The mains came almost immediately after the appetizers and our server kept grabbing our plates asking if we were finished, almost picking them off the table before we had a chance to say no we weren't. Given the romantic setting, because we were two women we were suspecting maybe this is why we were given a little lackluster service and somewhat of a brush off. The server was very knowledgeable and accommodating despite the rush. The food was fine. We both had the filet, no choice of how it's prepared which I understand but each of our steaks were cooked differently which I thought was odd. The desserts were clearly prepared in advance but the creme brulee we ordered had almost no crusting on top. I think for such a busy event, these things are understandable but because we had such an early reservation before the crowd came in I was caught off guard by feeling rushed.“

“I stopped by here and ordered the Chicken Alfredo pasta, it was good and filling, that's one thing about olive garden, the dishes are always plentiful that I usually take home leftovers. The pasta was cooked just right, the Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy, and the chicken was tender, server was friendly and attentive, food came out promptly even though the place was fairly busy.“

Chick-fil-A always meets my expectations, and this location is no exception. The menu is the same as all their other places, and the food is just as good.

* Chick-n-Strips: 10/10 - perfectly cooked and crispy
* Waffle Potato Fries: 10/10 - so delicious and fresh
* Hash Browns: 10/10 - our favorite item on the menu!

The workers were very friendly and welcoming when you first came in. We didn't have to wait at all to order, and the interior was very spacious. The parking is a bit tight, with limited spots, so finding a parking spot can be difficult during peak times.

“Why do these places not season their burgers? Salt... that's it. No one goes above and beyond. Effort is ZERO. Taste is ok. Its a burger that's not bad. It's ok food at a high price. I can do soooo much better with an ounce of effort. And I don't even use salt to do it. 15 extra seconds of time.“

“This particular Blaze location is one of the best in Orange County. Clean, fast service, and orders done right every time. I have occasionally had online ordering issues and the folks here were able to quickly resolve the problem and make sure my order was handled quickly and accurately. There are staff that have been at this location for years, which speaks volumes about the quality of this business. Highly recommend stopping through for lunch or dinner.“

“I called in my order and asked for the fish on my fish tacos specials to be on the side. It takes me a while to get home and I wasn’t going to be eating for a while so that helps me not get a soggy taco which ruins it for me. They actually packaged everything up separate and I was able to assemble my tacos fresh at home. I thought that was really nice and went the extra mile. Very nice employees took my order, rang me up when I arrived and gave me my meal as soon as it was ready. Just wanted to give some recognition, especially during the holidays when things can get hectic. Thanks for making sure my dinner was excellent.“
