11 Best Burger Restaurants in Oroville

“I learned a valuable lesson today. Never judge a restaurant by the city it’s in. I’m a foodie, and honestly, I didn’t think Oroville could put out an awesome foodie experience. My in-laws live in Oroville, and I have driven past The Boss Burger for 20 years, never stopping in, until today. Let me start by saying the girls behind the counter made you feel like you just arrived home after an extended absence. These are people who took a lesson or two in southern hospitality, and have a pleasant demeanor that is embedded in their DNA. The best customer service I have seen in this town in 20 years. Bar none.

So I ask what she recommended. I was hungry. The girl said to try the Super Big Boss burger combo with small fries, fry sauce, and a drink. She said it’s a lot of food, and I gladly accepted the challenge.

In short order, my name is called and on the counter I see this monster burger and huge portion of fries. I remarked on the immensity of the burger, and told the girl that I only ordered a small fry. “This IS our small fry” with a gotcha grin on her face. I am guessing a large fry probably comes with a some kind of disclaimer.

The burger is legit! 3/4 pound, cooked exactly to my preference. Great beefy flavor, not some processed frozen patty. The fries were perfectly cooked, and that fry sauce? Yeah, better than you imagine. Do not pass that up!

Clearly, I confess I was a bit uppity with my impressions of Oroville. I bow to you, The Boss Burger. You have my respect, loyalty, and repeat business.

“A quiet little spot right off of 70 to take a break from work. Damn good food and large portions too. The char broiled burger was great and the prices are very reasonable; especially considering its location and lack of competition in the area. This will be my go to spot if I'm ever in the area.“

“I go there in the afternoon for a chocolate Frosty, only to discover that they are out of chocolate. How can you be out of this in the afternoon? Good grief. You should have all of your supplies filled in the morning. How could you possibly be out of a key item so early in the day? This is unacceptable.“

“Best place in town if you want a milkshake after midnight! I went to go through the drive-thru a little after midnight, which is something I do fairly regularly. Tonight, the drive-thru line was wrapped all the way around the building, so it was far busier than normal. I placed my order in the app while the person driving was in line to order. The graveyard shift crew was on their game, because the line went pretty quickly and the wait was far less than I expected. My order was perfect, as was that of the person driving.“
