“Malama Pono has been my favourite restaurant in the neighborhood since 2021. I have always enjoyed my time here. Wonderful food and staff! BEST crispy rice in town!! Come here and you will not be disappointed. I’ve brought different people here and they all loved it. Everything on the menu is delicious.“

“The place itself is tiny, but the service is impressive! The owner himself greeted us and answered questions about the menu, then gave us samples. Ended up getting the Hawaiian Poke combo with 1/2 cucumber and seaweed salad, and a ginger ale. My favorite thing off the menu is hands down the seaweed salad. The poke was good, I think that because it’s intended to be a new take on poke itself, I was a little disappointed. I just happen to love the typical assembly line style of poke where you get to pick everything you want, and that wasn’t an option here, so I felt like there was something missing. It’s really just about personal preferences, but if you really like poke & want to try something different, then I would recommend it!Side note: I didn’t try the ramen, but the entire restaurant smelled strongly of broth and butter noodles, (in a good way) so I would be curious to try their ramen next.“

“I remember coming to the shop for sushi rice when I was pregnant. Whom had seemed to be the owner of the shop ending up being incredibly kind and accomplished. I felt welcome and I bought all of my poke bowls there ever since. Sadly I moved out of state and will miss their poke. Really kind, welcoming atmosphere, and good poke!“

“April 2024: Yes!Regular = 3 scoops of protein, 5 toppings, 3 sauces for $17. That's value.I came in here and was blown away by how fresh and clean everything is. Great staff! Two young kids work in the counter in tandem with each other.My whole experience here was great. I have to say that for $17 getting somewhere in the vicinity of like a pound to 2 lb of rice and protein and poke and all the toppings, and the sauces, the flavor combination is just incredible. I cannot stress how fresh the albacore, tuna, and salmon are. I mean you can literally see, taste, and experience the Great quality.For the local tourist, day trip person, someone who wants to experience downtown Burbank, anyone passing through, this is definitely a place where you get your money's worth.Very casual atmosphere, shorts and t-shirt type vibe.Parking: street only. San Fernando has a 90-minute limit per space. Be careful, some spots or 10 minute only. There are two free structures closer to Orange Grove that are Unlimited for about 22 hours. No parking 3am-5am. So if you have to leave your car there overnight, fair warning that you might get ticketed and towed.“

“I was in the area and looked up Poke. Poke LouLu came up. The reviews were good so I decide to try. I agree this Poke Bowl was tasty. I too wanted more after I finished. This place has been open for 4 months. I'll come back when I'm in Burbank again inside is clean and service was pleasant and informative. Thanks for dinner“

“I absolutely love their Kaluah pork with cabbage or tacos! They are amazing! I'm not a huge fan of Hawaiian food other than that pork! Yum!!! The owner can be a bit grumpy at times but he runs a tight ship I guess, haha! The price is a bit high, but so is rent in Burbank... so I get it! Anyway, anything you buy from there will definitely not leave you hungry!!“

“Easily an above-average poke shop. I wasn't even craving poke when I first discovered this spot, but I instantly walked in when I saw photos of the crispy onion topping. It's probably one of the more distinctive features compared some other locations I've visited. ***Caution*** - the smell is pungent... so maybe have a breath mint after? When you just look at the price, it seems a bit expensive, but the quantity is well worth it. I ordered a medium bowl and it was more than satiating. Found myself full with an awkward amount left, so I finished the entire plate. I was wrestling with food coma for the next few hours. Quality of each ingredient is pretty solid. I don't think I experienced anything bad while eating the food. The only reason I took off a star is due to the environment. The interior seems a bit run down and I would not want to eat inside there again. It seemed gloomy and not a place to stay. There also aren't too many seats inside which makes me think the manager wants people to take their food and go.“

“Ohana BBQ is my comfort Hawaiian food spot on Ventura Blvd. They stand out among the others because it's Hawaiian dishes with Korean BBQ. Every time my wife and I go , the gentleman who takes the phone orders is also the one ringing us up and he's so pleasant each time. My favorite item on the menu is the japchae with short rib. They're also very generous with the teriyaki and hot sauce which is a plus. Also the wall of celebrities who've dined there is such a great touch!“

“Fast service, fresh fish, and satisfying lunch!My friend and I came here and got takeout, and it was delicious. They only have one outdoor table unfortunately, but poke is something you grab and go anyways. We ended up taking this to a street down (Black Elephant Coffee) and eating our meal with our lattes.The portions feel small but it's really actually just dense. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, but I do wish that they gave you more than just 2 add ons. You have to ask about extra costs, because they won't tell you that up front, nor are there signs.Overall a solid poke place!“

“Date: 1/26/24 Was craving Hawaiian food and didn't want to leave the house with the two babies so decided to grub hub some food. Looked through the list and just went with the first option because it looked good already. 1. BBQ Chicken, Beef & Katsu Combo (13.99$) - Saw it was only a dollar more for another protein so of course I had to get this one. The chicken was probably my favorite of the three. Very juicy and soft. Love that they don't shiest on the protein. My toddler loved the katsu and the bbq chicken! Beef was more on the chewy side so it was harder to eat for the kids but i enjoyed it. 2. BBQ Chicken & Short Ribs Combo (14.99$) - The short ribs were amazing!!! It went by so fast and I really wanted more. Again the BBQ Chicken was really good. Definitely recommend this combo! An amazing first experience not to mention so incredibly CHEAP!!! Can't wait to come back and try everything else!“

“Ok so far so good good service it's 12:41am and they still cooking I like that about this place ordered a nice meal chicken combo Hawaiian BBQ there making it fresh can't wait to taste my food the atmosphere is nice and clean so that's a plus so far so good I don't understand why some people complain and say that it's bad my experience is so far a good one just waiting on the food to see if it's good or nasty it smells delicious can't wait to taste the food ....................... “The fish servings were not as large as I would've liked, but the quality and freshness was very good. You never want sushi meat that smells fishy. Toppings are decent, but sauce options were limited. Overall I would recommend this place for a quick and easy bite. Parking in the back is also very convenient.“

“Came in again this weekend for the classic aloha bbq mix! It's my favorite on the menu. I love the meat variety and always forget they give so much! It could be easily shared or saved for a second meal. There's more meat under the chicken, and the rice and macaroni really seal the deal. I like that there is veggies under the meat because it packs more flavor in the greens and adds a nice balance to the meat. Food comes out quickly and just like before, the vibe is very relaxing and easygoing whether I come alone or with company :))“

“The chicken here is very delicious. The only bad thing is that there are 2 girls that when they are in the kitchen they don't add any chicken, I ask for extra paying extra and not even that. They should be fired. And a fatty who has a very ugly manner and is very filthy.“

“Ever since we visited Hawaii a couple years ago, I've been craving Hawaiian styled food. I saw Ono in passing one day, and finally was able to give it a try on Friday. I was not disappointed at all! I got the chicken katsu plate with two sides of rice and two sides of steamed veggies (I substituted the macaroni salad for more veggies). The food was fantastic. My only thing to remember for next time is instead of substituting for two sides of veggies, to do an extra side of rice instead because I definitely didn't need all that cabbage hahaParking: Depending on the time of day, it can be a little difficult to find parking. There is metered parking and free one hour parking down the street“

“This is my favorite poke spot in the valley. Nothing fancy but it’s great for a quick bite or a quick lunch with one other friend. The prices are reasonable and the seafood is always fresh. “This poke spot is very unassuming and you'd never think twice about it. I've had a very good experience every time and honestly it's some of the freshest poke I've had. I've had it around 15-20x as of this review and it's never disappointed.The ingredients are super fresh and I've never had a bad experience here.I'll warn you that their spicy mayo is spicy! They also have really delicious pickles and great fresh crab (likely imitation? If so, I finally don't mind!) as well.The staff is also very friendly and kind.“

“The food is this place is simply something that you have to try if you're gonna eat in Northridge, I've never had better food ever can I get a spam musubi Hawaiian barbecue chicken musubi but then can I take off like the honey stuff yeah Northridge ever especially in the Hawaiian category of food ever I literally cannot explain how good this Hawaiian barbecue chicken taste, and the chicken Katsu combo I'm cream to this chicken right now. The macaroni salad is simply something to die for the chef need to be paid $10 million a year simply because of how much that they're pumping out with the quality of their food also the ingredients of this place is absolutely great. I hope that more people come to this unknown restaurant because it is kind of tucked away, but it is one of the best restaurants that you should definitely try if you're gonna, die because you only live once.“

“Staff were friendly and nice, I ordered short rib with no rice, all veggies. I was happy with the taste quality and portion. Only issue was the veggies that they were overcooked and there was no crunch into it and also I had to do a few times back-and-forth to get more napkins .“
