I'M GIVING THIS RESTAURANT A REVIEW FROM WHEN I WENT TO VALENCIA HIGH SCHOOL AND LIVED ON LA JOLLA ST. LAST TIME I ATE HERE WAS WHEN I WAS 18-19. BUT I'M TELLING YOU THEIR FOOD WAS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN THAT AREA. AND IF THEIR STILL IN BUSINESS AND IN THE SAME BUILDING THEY ARE STILL THE BEST AND MAYBE EVEN BETTER
This place is stlithe same as it was from my childhood visits in the 80s. My dad used to know the original owner and I visited frequently. In June 2026, I brought my family for a 'snack' and for my own nostalgia. It got to say the food is till delicious, the carnitas #1! The soles are my all time favorites here, nobody else makes them the way Q Tortas does. And the torta we bought was just a beautiful presentation and they still wrap it in aluminum foil like they always have....read full review
