“I just moved into the area. It takes three minutes to walk to the truck, which is open all day on Saturdays and Sundays. They're also open after four-thirty on week days. They make very substantial burritos that I always order. They come with jalapeños and salsa. The habanero is excellent but HOT. This place is just a pick-up, of course. It's worth checking them out. $11 burrito. $1 tip. It lasts me for two days!“
“Carnitas El Rey is a must-visit for authentic Mexican cuisine, renowned for its mouthwatering carnitas and traditional dishes. From tender pork to flavorful tacos and hearty burritos, the menu offers a delightful array of options. The restaurant's warm ambiance and friendly service create a welcoming atmosphere for diners. With generous portions and reasonable prices, Carnitas El Rey promises a satisfying dining experience. Overall, it's a top choice for those seeking genuine Mexican flavors in a casual setting.“
“Fav local tacos. Quick and easy to drop in and eat or grab and go. Order at the counter service. Staff is friendly. Limited indoor and outdoor seating area.Fresh salsas are a highlight plus during the week they have "taco happy hour" with discounts on tacos. I absolutely love the chile relleno and the patatas rajas tacos. Highly recommend this place.“
“Absolutely some of the best tacos I've had in Ventura. Stopped by really quick after Target after putting it off way too many times and it was just as good, and better than I hoped it'd be. Really affordable compared to every other taco place I've been to in the area and better tasting. The bits of fresh charred pineapple on the pastor tacos was so good. The guys working tonight were super friendly and wrapped our food up to go really quickly. The tortillas were also homemade I'm pretty sure. Every bit was delicious and I can't wait to go back and try all of the other meat and their tortas. HIGHLY recommended, I'm so glad these guys are allowed to have their pop-up and I hope they're around for a long long time.“
“Ohh my goodness I must say that the Tacos ? ? and the rice was well everything was fantastic ? delicious.Parking: Well I used the bus ? I had business to take care of but it's directly across from Plaza Park with the Big Beautiful Christmas Tree all lite up at night time.“
“The food was okay, pretty bland flavors in my Carne asada burrito. I don't like carne asada made from ground beef, stuffed with rice and bean. I should have tried the al pastor, but I doubt it would be more flavorful.Sorry, ventura County has mediocre Mexican food, much better in San Diego, like Roberto 's Taco Shop's!!!!!“
“I enjoyed 2 of the amazing Fish Taco's this evening from Baja Bay Surf N Taco. Delicious does not begin to describe the abundance of flavors in that shell. The fish was a very generous portion and grilled to perfection. The salsa was tasty with just enough heat. Can't wait to visit again.“
“The chili cheeseburger is amazing - in fact, I've now ordered it on two different occasions because I enjoyed it so much. My husband got one of the hot dogs but after trying my burger, he ended up ordering a chili cheeseburger, too, the second time we visited. The beer was good, the servers are friendly and attentive, and we'll likely be back soon. I don't know where else I'd get a phenomenal brisket like this.“
“The crunchy Parmesan Chicken Tacos are absolutely amazing! Top tier, these are my son's favorite tacos and let me tell you.... They hit different! We don't get anything else. Staff is always friendly, some seating inside and outside, and it's a 1 minute walk to the beach.“
“I ordered the Shrimp Tacos. Menu says you must order 3 no single tacos for Shrimp, it's okay I wanted 3 anyways. It was not busy at all for being early lunch. Food came out quick and the tacos were delicious good amount of shrimp and the Sauce had a nice kick to it. I took these to go so I'm not sure how crowded it gets during lunch but I will be back to try the Burrito.“
“Finger licken good! Meat falling off the bone and into your mouth. You can tell the owner, Jason, has a passion for grilling. All the food is cooked perfectly and to make it even better the bbq sauce is just delish to smother on top of everything. Or maybe I can ask for a straw to drink it directly . I recently tried the brisket esquite, and I don't think I can have one anywhere else now. So yummy! Right now, you can enjoy this deliciousness at the Ventura Music Hall, which is actually a pretty cool spot. But there will be a new location soon, so stay posted so you know where to find this amazing bbq.“
“We saw their truck at the Oxnard Tamale festival in 2023 and let me just say this, if you didn’t try their food you definitely missed out!!! Their surf & turf tacos are amazing! The chorizo tostaditas, Asada tacos adobada are beyond good!!!!“
“This place is delicious! I am a regular that comes for their scrumptious chico mole bowls. If you want a healthy and tasty option this is the place to come. The chicken is really well marinated and clocked over flame, you can taste the charred crispy edges of the chicken while the inside remains juicy! The mole is sweet with a hint of spice. They serve it with 2 huge corn tortillas. I weigh my food because of my high protein diet and this bowl gets you about 50 grams of protein from the chicken and about 79 grams of carbs from the rice and tortillas. The guys are super friendly!I highly recommend this place!“
“This is our favorite food truck!! So much to choose from off the menu. Food is prepared very fast, we never have to wait long for our order. Our son loves dancing to the music while we get our salsas and warm chips to go from outside. We like to get their torta w/asada, barbacoa quesadilla, pastor tacos. Only bad thing to point out is getting a bay leaf every other bite when you order barbacoa…lol horchata, cheesecake, and chocoflan keep us coming back. make sure you clarify if you want “asada fries” or “a side of fries” hahahahaParking: The parking situation can be a little confusing sometimes. people just kinda choose a spot in the parking lot then you gotta just park around them lol“
“Great place. Not just a "burger" stand by any means. Love the fact that the owner is involved. His place! but you get the food how "you" want it. He always says " l'll make it however you want"Corn burritos are killer!! Caramel Milk Sh?ke!!! Best fries ever! Fresh old fashioned syle burgers.Just go there. you will make a new friend and have great food!!“
“No-frills place (actually under-frilled, if that's possible)... but delicious food. We got Korean Tacos and a Shrimp Po Boy to share. I thought the sandwich was really good and I'd come back for it, and the tacos were even better and I can't wait to get them again. The only thing that would make this place better is if they tidied up the hallway leading to the restroom more and didn't have spare boxes of service items sitting around.“
“10 out of 10, we love their food, always well served, clean, without so much fat, the vegetables are always fresh, everything is very very tasty, good service!!Super recommended of the best in oxnard ???Kid-friendliness: My kids love the food here.Parking: There is always a place for cars“
“Love this place! I had heard it was really good food. But I had no expectation that it was going to be as excellent as it turned out to be. So fresh! And really tasty. Not your run-of-the-mill, Mexican food. I will definitely drive an hour she go there again, and again…Vegetarian options: I ordered the burrito bowl with beans and rice. It comes with the freshest greens, avocado, and lightly pickled vegetables. So so good and tasty.“
“Rocks and Drams in downtown Ventura exceeded all expectations! Located on California Street, just south of Main Street, this hidden gem stands out with its bright exterior and inviting signage. Once inside, you're greeted with a sophisticated and elegant lounge atmosphere, complete with small tables, cozy couch seating, and a stylish bar.The upscale speakeasy vibe is enhanced by the dark, muted colors, luxurious fabrics, and eccentric artwork adorning the walls. While the music was a bit too loud for the ambiance, it didn't detract from the overall experience. The cocktails at Rocks and Drams are truly a work of art. Each drink is meticulously crafted with spot-on ingredients, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. The staff, including the friendly and knowledgeable bartender who assisted us, were exceptionally helpful and polite. What's more, the prices for the drinks are incredibly reasonable considering the upscale atmosphere of the lounge. I can't wait to return to Rocks and Drams for another unforgettable evening of delicious drinks and elegant ambiance. Five stars all the way!“
“This taco truck is at the gas station where I come and get my gas and I always see it full of people. The surf and turf quesadilla, surf and turf torta and surf and turf burrito is where it's at! So delicious. Big, plump and juicy well seasoned shrimp with well seasoned carne asada. It has great flavor. Unique from all the other trucks you see here in Oxnard. I also love how they put fresh avocado on the tacos and fresh Red onion... something you don't see often(for those who appreciate onions). I will definitely come back again.“
“It's a food truck in front of a bikini bar. They have GREAT street tacos. Generpus portions. We tried the asada, chicken, & pork. Got a side of rice & beans too. Preferred the green salsa (med hot) over the red. After we ate in our car, I went back and got an asada burrito for later. Fast & friendly. Will be back!“
“I Eat From Here at Least Twice a Week ! ? Their Food is Delicious, Authentic, & Economical. Very Nice Clean Family Owned Business , Owners are Very Nice ,Sweet People, I've NEVER had a bad Experience At Taco de Jerez, and I've been eating here for many years ! You Must Try a Combo Plate ! Best on the Avenue ??“
“I wasn't prepared for the professional feel of The Taco Shops (TTS) kitchen--wish I had pictures. They appear to take their work very serious. On our journey back south from Solvang we stumbled across this gem located in Ventura. We were looking for a good breakfast burrito on our way home. I have to have refried beans on my breakfast burritos. We must have found half a dozen taco shops before TTS that either only had black beans or didn't say they had refried beans on their menus. Then we found the trifecta! The TTS breakfast burrito. This burrito is made with fresh made scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage, bacon, and chorizo !!! I added my refried beans of course . Each of our burritos came with a perfect portion of fresh tortilla chips and the choice of either mild or hot salsa. The only foul I'm calling is the use of french fries for potatoes. I would expect better from the cooks cooking in the kitchen I saw.Someone please bring a TTS to the Murrieta/Temecula area!“
“I've been going here for almost 2 years now. Moved to SP and still will drive to get their food over what SP has to offer. Consistency is a big deal when it comes to food, and they have it. Homemade quesadilla and queso tacos with al pastor never fails.“
“I ordered a Quesa Mulita de Asada and a Torta de Pollo. The mulita was delicious. So flavorful, nice and crispy tortillas and filled with lots of asada. The salsa roja was slightly spicy and worked very well with this mulita. There was lots of love put in to this one and I really enjoyed it.The torta was pretty big and the bread was hearty enough to hold the filling and soft enough to know it was fresh. The filling was fresh but the chicken didn't really have a lot of flavor. Actually, the whole sandwich was kinda bland. I think the chicken needed some more seasoning, some more pop, to let you know it was there. I almost thought there wasn't much chicken in there, but I think there was plenty - it just blended in too much to taste it. I had some salsa verde on the side and added that to a few bites and that helped out a lot. The salsa verde wasn't spicy, but it did have a lot green chile flavor which made it very tasty. The winner today was the quesa mulita. I'd definitely come back for that and maybe even experiment with some other meats.“
“$1.50 tacos on tuesdays which are loaded up with meat, onions, and cilantro. The al pastor had a great char to it and a tasty marinade. They also included these huge grilled green onions which I wasn't expecting but went well with the tacos so not complaining. The truck was in a parking lot right off of vineyard so it definitely wasn't a peaceful meal, but a fun place to stop by with friends!“
“I wanted breakfast, so I ordered the sausage croissant without the sausage. The cashier actually helped me out with a cheaper deal by having me buy the croissant and add the egg and cheese to the order. It went from a $7 sandwich to a $3 one, so I really appreciated the cashier's help with that!“
