Finally went to Donahoo's in Riverside. Lived up to the hype! Fried chicken like mom's used to make, and the mojo's are off the chain (better than Shakey's). The thing that got me was it was cooked to order (I had to wait 25 minutes for my order) which was cool, because when I got home (a 30 minute drive), my food was still piping hot. Another thing was that before I placed my order I peeked behind the counter and saw cast-iron skillets. I said, "Ok, I'm rockin's with Donahoo's."
Decades late to the party! I've heard about Donahoo's when I was in high school and I never thought a humble building would have amazing food. The fried chicken here is one of the best I've had and the mojo potatoes here are by far the BEST potatoes I have ever had. You cannot really go wrong here. The chicken really had no flavor. The heaviness of the grease made me feel bleh for hours. I was curious about this place for a long time and was disappointed. Very nice staff though just not for me though.
