“Passing through Sacramento on an Amtrak layover, we were drawn to the Grange for it’s unusual menu. Farm-to-table with an elegant twist! The options featured a unique combination of flavors and ingredients- persimmon and sweet potato sold me! And each dish was more amazing than the next. As we were traveling, we just ordered appetizers and were completely satisfied with everything. Of course we had to have the sweet potato and persimmons side. Both ingredients sweet, but not in competition with each other, while the miso added the perfect punch. The roasted beer with smoked halibut mousse appetizer was divine. Beets were cooked perfectly, the buttermilk dressing a perfect complement, but the trout roe added the pop. We also ordered the grilled chicory salad, a bitter and tangy partner to the previous plates. But the shrimp carpaccio was out of this world. Fresh, fresh, fresh shrimp, pounded flat and cut into a rectangle, made a base for the pile of excitement on top: pickled persimmon, radish, furikake, crispy rice, and chili crunch. Yes indeed, farm to table over the top.\nThen there was the service. Our server Xandra was efficient, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. Even the bus boy Kameron offered excellent service. The place filled up while we were there, but we may as well have been the only guests - we never needed for anything during our very pleasant visit. Highly recommend this sophisticated yet down-to-earth restaurant in the Citizen Hotel downtown. Wish I lived in Sacramento!“

“Nice place, nice little patio out back, food was very good, service also very nice, would absolutely go back. Most minor issue was entree coming out within a minute of the salad which is kind of a pet peeve of mine, but minor and all is well.“

The new owners are doing good things to the place. Place was getting busy by the time we left. Mixed crowd with good vibes. “Was looking for a bar and bottle shop and found it! Have taps/bar on one side and coolers of cans on the other—can grab a can/pint and hang out with friends! They also had 4 different gluten free beers (GF) on hand to try from Ghostfish, Ground Breaker and Buck Wild. Also had some good merch on sale. Hung out for a few hours and had a blast!“

“This is one of the best Sushi restaurants in Sac. As the name suggests they have great otoro sashimi and sushi. I've tried other things on the menu, including ramen and teriyaki dishes. All are excellent. If you are a salmon sashimi lover this place has an amazing sashimi platter. Maybe the best thing about Otoro is that it's open until 11 so you can satisfy your late night sush cravings.“

“When I first went to Fire Taproom, I was truly amazed. The atmosphere, including the workers, were extremely friendly. The food I ordered (the Classic Burger) was absolutely delicious. My kids ordered the Chicken Tenders and wouldn't stop telling me about how much they loved it. My husband ordered the FTR Chicken Sandwich and really liked it. The fries were also amazingly seasoned, unlike any other restaurant I have been to before. The place was truly amazing, and I can't wait to come again.“

“This is a really cool chill bar to spend time at either by yourself or with some friends. The times that I’ve been here it’s a laid back environment even on the busier nights. There’s indoor seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. The bartenders are friendly and cool, the drinks are good and I like the cider options here. This isn’t the place you’ll be dancing to the music at but you could definitely chit chat with the regulars or bartenders. Came recently and sat inside with my friend enjoying a drink after dinner while baseball played on the tv. It was relaxing and a great place for a lowkey hang out. Bartender was attentive and quick with our drinks.“

“An intimate, not too intimate place for drinks. A hidden beauty that needs to be shared with everyone. The staff was so accommodating and so attentive. This will be my first stop when returning to Sacramento.“

“The Mushroom lounge is what some might call the definition of a "dive bar". Usually nothing but locals and a sprinkle of new folks. Bartenders are knowledgeable of different drinks, however most people just have beer or Jameson whiskey shots. Two pool tables with usually serious pool players who will gladly help a new player understand the game and whatnot. Fridays and Saturdays karaoke is jammin!! Burgers and Brew on R St, has Niman Ranch Beef and the bacon jalapeño burgers are $3.50 less than a regular burger at Dukes. I want to support local but $21 burgers and $10 beers….not the go to.“

The quality of their sound system, and music selection and thier show presentation was by far the best I've experienced if had. I've been singing karaoke in the greater sacred area since 1994. I'll be back to sing again!“
