About Lau Oc Viet

Lau Oc Viet is a restaurant that offers a memorable dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere. The menu features dishes like the mango salad, which is refreshingly good, and the Bun Bo Hue broth, condiments, and side veggies that are tasty. The house-made sauce fried chicken wings are enjoyed by kids, and the ca canh chua and morning glory are also highly recommended. The restaurant serves Pandan tea, perfect for cleansing the palate.

While the meats in some dishes could benefit from longer cooking times to make them more tender, the overall quality of the food is very high. The escargot and razor clams are popular choices, with the garlic butter razor clams and Butter and Peppercorn Escargot standing out. The oc Len Xau Dua (coconut soup with snails) and Stir Fried Basil Clams are also favorites. The Balut is served with a sweet and sour sauce and is best enjoyed with porridge.

Service at Lau Oc Viet is friendly, with staff often checking on customers and engaging in small talk. The ambiance is lively and vibrant, as the restaurant hosts large groups and events, with a karaoke group often in the back. Although the food can take some time to prepare, it is well worth the wait.

Overall, Lau Oc Viet offers a great combination of delicious food, warm service, and a fun atmosphere, making it a place worth visiting for an enjoyable meal.

celebrated bday dinner here, great food! owners are super nice too! would def come back for 2nd time.

My boyfriend and I loved the food here—very unique flavors. Great customer service too

5 stars! For quality of food. Every dish we had tasted delicious. Brought us back to OC places, and better than some of the central Viet dishes in SoCal. From the house made sauce fried chicken wings (kids enjoyed), to the ca canh chua, mango salad was refreshingly good, and the morning glory was very nice. Didn't try the pho, but kids and bro enjoyed. Bro said the banh xeo was a little hard. It just took a REALLY long time for them to prepare the food--one cook that day maybe?...read full review
