“Meeting a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, she recommended we come to Southside Super. I had never heard of this place or dined here before so I was excited to try something new!

When we arrived, it was fairly crowded, but we managed to place our order at the register and snag a seat inside. Unfortunately, having arrived later in the day, all of the hot and cold to-go items were sold out.

I decided to try the chicken pho from their made-to-order menu. My friend ordered the spam fried rice. The food came out relatively quickly, and you can tell that it is absolutely made with the utmost care, love, and highest quality of ingredients.

This was hands-down some of the best chicken pho I have ever had in my life. I will definitely be coming back to Southside Super, especially earlier in the day to try some of their grab and go items, as well as more of their menu.“

“I've been coming here since their old location since 2002. I come for the food, and the sense that these are my "aunties" making the food. I don't know another place that sells pork belly banh mi, but here. If there is, I doubt it would fill up the sandwich as much as they do here. The duck salad and lotus root salad is so refreshing too!“

“Top tier customer service. you can tell the owner really cares about the experience and wants his restaurant to succeed. He spilled a very minute amount of soup on his serving tray and not even on my table and he gave me an extra broth on the side.

Budget friendly pricing. I paid less than 20 to get a pho bowl with beef flank, beef balls and BEEF RIB. I couldn’t finish and had to get togo and I am 155lbs. (bowl looks small, contents are not 😭)

Food is also very delicious and not too oily. tastes fresh and I don’t feel like knocking out from food coma after a big meal.“

“Pho City is hands down the best Vietnamese Pho sopt in the greater Sacramento area. It's not just a cool restaurant to dine in, it's great if you want to take away your food as well. The beef pho is the best dish in my opinion, but the chicken soup/pho is just as good. The egg rolls are exceptional. This place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I recommend to you figure out there. One minor knock is that it is the most excitement pho in Sacramento. But, it's worth every cent.“

“Wonderful food order Beef rib pho even though there is little mix up but they fix it right away and even give us a beef ribs as a comp and Combination pho and had great customer service and very friendly. Have alot of amazing choice of food in the menu cant wait to come back and try more! and have cute little private cabana to sit outside and outdoor sitting if you dont want to sit inside, but if you come inside there plenty of tables and they huge bar and even stage for live music and karaoke with even VIP table like your at the club.“

“My husband and I often have Pho after our Dr appointments at UCD. We had an amazing lunch two weeks ago and were so impressed, we had to go back! I had the Seafood Pho and husband had rare steak Pho. Wow! The broths were very different and very tasty. The service is awesome and the staff great. They are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and inviting. It’s very well lit . The prices are reasonable and portions grand. This is their 35 th anniversary. You will not be disappointed.“

Come early sometimes lines can be long. Expect delays too , sometimes they are short staff and get help from security which really is a great help to them.“

“10/12/2021 Recommend? Yes. Let's get straight to the point: BEST VEGAN BUN BO HUE. That's it. I'm Vietnamese and since my vegan journey of more than 2 years I haven't been able to find a satisfactory bun bo hue. My favorite ones ever have always been in Viet Nam at a little stall in the market or the neighborhood house that makes it to sell. Here I ordered bun bo hue and cha gio. Do take my review with a grain of salt because I had been hungry for daysssss, well really just 1 day because I was on a train. Lol. The bun bo hue here comes with a paste and you should definitely add it to your bowl. It has banana blossom as a veggie to add, but in addition to that I would also love some morning glory. The broth was well seasoned and not overly sweet like a lot of over bun bo hue and the mushrooms, tofu, and "meats" have well absorbed the flavor of the broth too. The cha gio (eggrolls, spring rolls) were fine. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think they were extra great either.“

We got banh hoi with pork and mi quang. Wanted banh xeo but sold out, wish we got banh beo as well.
Mi quang noodles weren't super strong turmeric flavor and the texture was just ok, but gave a lot of meat and fair value. Everything was hot and filling.“

The broccoli beef was phenomenal! In addition to the broccoli, we noticed bok choy, carrots, baby corn, and onion in the mix, which all perfectly complimented the dish. The sauce was delicious.

The chicken fried rice was really good - a pretty basic dish, but we enjoyed it a lot. Some places use vegetables cut larger than I like, but these were a good size.

The soup was also really good. My only issue was there was a LOT of tofu, which I can't eat much of due to a minor allergy, but I was able to just pick the pieces out. The broth itself was amazing.“

I absolutely loved my meal!!!

I called ahead to see if they made vegetarian or shrimp Pho’. They do vegetarian! OMG!!! It’s probably the best I’ve ever eaten!!! There was no need to add anything!!! Plenty of rice noodles, bokchoy, celery, shrimp, etc… The plate of bean sprouts was minimal but my bowl was full of vegetables it didn’t matter! Additionally, it wasn’t like 3-4 shrimp, I stopped counting after 10!

Admittedly, when they sat my bowl down - I prayed - and I started eating 😂. I completely forgot about taking pictures. 🤣“

“5 stars! For quality of food. Every dish we had tasted delicious. Brought us back to OC places, and better than some of the central Viet dishes in SoCal. From the house made sauce fried chicken wings (kids enjoyed), to the ca canh chua, mango salad was refreshingly good, and the morning glory was very nice. Didn't try the pho, but kids and bro enjoyed. Bro said the banh xeo was a little hard. It just took a REALLY long time for them to prepare the food--one cook that day maybe? But food was very high quality. Friendly service. Can get a little loud inside, looks like it hosts big groups and events, they was a karaoke group in the back.“

“Growing up with Thai food, we love this bamboo noodle House for food. They have excellent choices fantastic soups with nice hot sauces. Typically we order to go and everything is ready very quickly. Also, they were open before 10 AM today which was very nice.“
