“My homegirl introduced me to this place and is educating me in her food and culture. The resturant was clean, neat, and the customer service was courteous and fast. There was only an hour left before closing when I got there but they didn't rush us at all. I got a super delicious noodle broth with carrots in it and am so glad I went here instead of the other restaurant next door. I definitely want to go again and try out the other dishes they have and expand my pallette.
Parking: I park close to the resturant bc it's pretty ghetto the neighborhood and street this resturant is on.“

“Broth was excellent and legit. Noodles ok, sides were fresh. Not a strong broth but very flavorful, not cloudy and clear, not too much fat(I prefer fat) had plenty of meat products. I ordered a combo since it was my first time here. Highlights were the broth and the prices for a large was 10.95. Service was really fast. Tight parking“

“Delicious cơm tấm(broken rice)! I got #51 on the menu and I really like that they cut the meat up for you.
There are a lot of tables to eat at. This is a great spot to enjoy cơm tấm and have a conversation with friends.
The prices are a bit higher than I'm used to.
The service is standard. This place is always busy on the weekend so definitely be ready to flag down the waiters when you need service.“

“Friday, 10/25/2024 - Tried "Pho Viet Anh" for dinner for the 1st time. Address is 9529 Folsom Blvd A, Sacramento, CA 95827. They have a nice medium parking lot. We found parking right away. Domino's Pizza is in the front of the building and they are towards the back. Upon arrival....
Pros
1) There was no wait. We seated ourself.
2) the waiter was very nice and patient with us. He let us review the online menu.
3) they didn't provide any hard copy menu. You have to scan the QR code for the menu. It's located on the table.
4) we got the strawberry Lemonade drink ($5.00). It was very tart. A little hard to drink. But we dranked it.
5) We got the large combo pho ($17.00) with the greens on the side. The broth was good. We didn't need to put any of the sauce condiments into the pho broth. We just ate it as is.
6) we got the chicken viet sandwich ($10.20). Sandwich was really good. But watch out. The jalapeño is super spicey. We removed a few jalapeño and the made it less spicey.
7) water tasted good. No funky or metal taste.
8) clean. Our table, chairs, utensils plates, bowls, cups looked clean.
9) they did check on our table to make sure all was good and if we needed anything else.
Cons
1) the menu is small. not much to choose from. But it makes it easier to pick something to eat.
Conclusion
We liked this restaurant. Customer service was great. Food menu is small, but perfect. Made it easier to pick something quickly. Pho was delicious. Chicken viet sandwich was great. Parking was easy. We didn't have any wait time. We'd go here again.“

“"Pho City is hands down one of the best spots for Vietnamese food in town. Their pho is absolutely outstanding—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The broth is rich, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right depth of flavor to make every bite incredibly satisfying. It’s clear they put a lot of care into their recipe, as the broth has that slow-cooked, homemade quality that sets it apart from other places. Pair that with fresh, tender slices of beef or their savory chicken, and you’ve got a bowl of pho that feels like pure comfort food.
What truly elevates Pho City, though, is the attention to detail in every dish. Even their condiments, like the garlic chili oil and hoisin sauce, are balanced and flavorful, adding an extra layer of richness without overpowering the main dishes. It’s clear they take pride in delivering a consistently high-quality dining experience.“

“I've been coming here since their old location since 2002. I come for the food, and the sense that these are my "aunties" making the food. I don't know another place that sells pork belly banh mi, but here. If there is, I doubt it would fill up the sandwich as much as they do here. The duck salad and lotus root salad is so refreshing too!“

Not a fan of Pho but I love Bahn mi sandwiches. I had the fried noodles and they were excellent. Don't remember what my wife and bro inlaw had but they loved their food also. The service is excellent too.“

“Delicious vietnamese food. We just came back from Vietnam and this place captures the flavor profile of Vietnamese food. We love the bread, it was soft, crispy outside and pairs really good with the food. Bahn mi has large portion and the fillings were generous. They also have egg coffee and other fruit drinks. We will definitely come back again to try other food.“

“Delicious and affordable! I love cafeteria style where the food is cooked and presented and u choose what u want! They have a combo that comes w noodles/rice and 2 sides. There's also plenty of prepackaged food from appetizers to desserts. Cash only, they don't speak English, nothing has egg!!, and I do believe allium free! This is in little Saigon so be prepared to be immersed into Vietnam. They have booth style seating and nice open window. Desserts are slightly sweet and contain beans, delicious.?“

“I stopped by here randomly for lunch because I was in the area for work.
Ordered the #16 with a coke and overall really satisfied and spent under $16
Food was flavorful and I thought was going to be spicy but had none at all.
Amount of food was great for the price.
Was seated right away but don't expect the American style customer service where they check on you or do small talk; which I didn't mind but it's not for everyone.
Atmosphere was friendly, ton of families with kids or grandparents.
All in all Id like to come back and try something else if I'm in the area again.“

“Such a cool little spot filled with Vietnamese and Korean dishes. Near Southside Park. There's cold and hot food grab n go deli items. These are pre-packaged and ready to eat foods. Super convenient. Their menu rotates with fresh ingredients. There's also a menu that you can order from and it's cooked to order.
It's a small place so don't try to bring a group. Not happening. I'm talking 12-14 seats total type of small. For its size, it's super efficient.
I opted for some grab n go items around 10:30am. Here's what I had.
*Spam & Veggie Kimbap - Good, but I'll try it without spam next time. They offer a veggie option and beef option as well.
*Bulgogi Dosirak Lunch Box - Meat was salty but texture was good. Paired up nicely with the steamed rice. It did not have the overly sugary taste like KBBQ does.
*Braised Pork Belly w/Quail Eggs - My favorite of everything ordered. Very close to how I make this dish at home and it was deliciously comforting.
Be sure to check their hours. They can run out of the goods so be sure to get there early.“

“Everything we ordered was good. I had the spicy beef soup, although it ended up being pork for some reason. The waitress kept on saying that pork leg would be better for me ?. Anyway, it didn't matter. I had to add some hot sauce tho, but I liked the dish.
C5 is good and the house special shrimps over rice were really good. All in all, we enjoyed it. It's very close to the banh mi place, so if you're still hungry you can score a sandwich.“

“This is my go to viet place that's close by since I don't want to drive all the way to south sac. They recently remodeled and it looks really nice with the new decor, tables, floors, and chairs! They even had new plates and dining ware that look a lot more modern! The service is very fast and food is very good. I always get the spring roll, vermicelli, pho, and Thai tea. You can have parties here too because they have a stage area.“
“The best Chinese food i have had and the servers are very polite. Inside the restaurant the surroundings are more than you expect after you pay most times I pay less than $20 for me and my wife. Never had a long wait and as nice as it all is not too many people there always quite.“

“I CAME HERE FOR TOFU PUDDING AND THEY REALLY GOOD. Tho, it was like 4 bucks which is a bit iffy but the included syrups were pretty good (coconut and regular black sugar syrup).Soy milk is what you typically expect - nothing terribly special but the tofu pudding is definitively on the firmer side which im always down for.“

“We had the best time here! Hands down, the BEST Vietnamese goi ga chicken salad I’ve ever had! So much flavor, texture, and a great portion size. “Came for a Ladies Lunch date with two others at 1:30pm. Restaurant had a nice flow of in house customers not too busy but not slow either. I also observed a continuous flow of take out orders. Since we always wash our hands before eating one gets the opportunity to observe the cleanliness of the establishment while walking to the restroom, while using and returning, and this restaurant was indeed clean . The atmosphere was nice and comfortable.“
“I love coming here for party trays. The prices are good and so is the food. The employees do a good job taking your order and making sure you get your food on time. Definitely don't hesitate to cater your next party with this delicious food.“

“I’ve been going to this place for almost a year and I enjoy every aspect of it. I enjoy eating delicious food (perfect in the heat and cold). The people working there are nice and finish making the food at a decent speed. Love bringing my friends here whether they’re also from Sac State or at a different college.“
“I came here for lunch with a fellow coworker. First time here at this Cafe. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the inside looks well put together. The decor and dining area looks charming and inviting. Seating is self serve.
We got a table and was greeted almost immediately and provided menus to look through. Our server was nice and polite.
The menu options are simpler compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. Upon ordering our food arrived hot from the kitchen with about 15 minutes.
The food came out tasty and very delicious. The egg rolls were crunchy and yummy. My vermicelli noodle with chicken and shrimp turned out well.
Between the lunch order and the two Vietnamese coffee and side order of egg rolls total came to be about $65 with tax and tip which is on the higher side for lunch for two.
Here’s the overall score for Wondering Cafe:
Cafe dining space (5/5). Service (5/5). Food (5/5). Drinks (5/5). Value to price ratio (4/5). Over all experience (4.4/5).
Wonderful Cafe is great place to stop by for a quick bite to eat. It’s a charming little place as others have said. Expect great service but be prepared to pay a higher premium for the food. The food won’t disappoint. Will definitely stop by again and try out some of the other items on the menu.

“10/12/2021 Recommend? Yes. Let's get straight to the point: BEST VEGAN BUN BO HUE. That's it. I'm Vietnamese and since my vegan journey of more than 2 years I haven't been able to find a satisfactory bun bo hue. My favorite ones ever have always been in Viet Nam at a little stall in the market or the neighborhood house that makes it to sell. Here I ordered bun bo hue and cha gio. Do take my review with a grain of salt because I had been hungry for daysssss, well really just 1 day because I was on a train. Lol. The bun bo hue here comes with a paste and you should definitely add it to your bowl. It has banana blossom as a veggie to add, but in addition to that I would also love some morning glory. The broth was well seasoned and not overly sweet like a lot of over bun bo hue and the mushrooms, tofu, and "meats" have well absorbed the flavor of the broth too. The cha gio (eggrolls, spring rolls) were fine. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think they were extra great either.“

“In a nutshell; good place to stop by and get some pho and/or other Vietnamese cuisine.
It's the kind of eatery you can reliably stop by at and for sure get a good hefty bowl of pho at any time. Place is simple but very viet/Asian. Servers are all great and accommodating. Seats and tables are simple but comfy enough as you dine through the hour or so. Overall neat place. Parking's usually easy and always available.“

“Usually busy when I come here. Small little hole in the wall place that is great to grab lunch. Wait time is comparable to Gold Rush Grill across the street. I wish there was more comfortable seating available to eat at outside. Just a few metal chairs and tables. No indoor seating. That being said, food is fantastic and service is always good.“
