“Had them twice and both times have been great. I needed one more visit to make a judgment call. First visit was kung pao chicken and it was very delicious. But I needed to try a fried plate like general chicken. The general chicken is fire! It’s not all breading! You’re getting full on chicken and the sauce is crazy! Very delicious. They are the truth no doubt.“

“Food, quality, service everything was a 10/10. The side dishes were some of my favs. The crispy fried fish, honey walnut shrimp, seaweed salad everything was cooked to perfection. I will be coming back each time I’m back in Sacramento.“

“This place has been around for 59 years and counting. It was my first time there and I ordered the shrimp fried rice and got some beer all in one spot! I love it. The food was great and the service was too. The owner was very nice and helpful.“

“Really cool place! A friend took me here to try malatang for the first time and it was amazing. My friends and I grabbed some bowls, got in line to get some meat, veggies, protein, and noodles. Then we got to choose our soup bases, order some drinks, and bam, just sat and waited till our bowls were cooked for us. If you don't like soups, you could always get your bowl as a stir fry. You also have the option of making a custom sauce for your dish.
I was a bit worried that my bowl would be really pricey since I added a lot of meat, but it only came out to around $17! I also got some tasty green milk tea boba for 50% because of a special sale they were having.
I think this is a great place to bring people who like to have control over their dishes and want to pay for their own meal. It was nice being able to pay for my own bowl and sit down with my friends while we ate. No one had to argue over the bill or do Venmo, we just had a good time paying for our own food with the portions we wanted.
Plus, everything was really clean and neat. There were lots of freshly cleaned tongs and bowls.
Looking forward to coming here again.“

“I have been searching for a new place I love and this may be it! Everything was delicious! We had Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken combos. The noodles were great, meat perfectly seasoned, and perfect crisp on the chicken. Will be back to try more.“

“We visited on Friday night around 7pm and we ordered right away on the counter. This was self-serve type of restaurant. They will buzz your buzzer and you pick up at the designated window. The service was quick - we got our food within 5 minutes of ordering.
There are self-served condiments table on the right side of the pick up window. You can load as much condiments as you like. They have pickled mustard greens, pickled long beans, bamboo shoots, roasted soy bean, roasted peanuts, scallions, cilantro, and hot sauces.
- A1 Guilin Rice Noodle: the noodle was very soft (but a bit too soft for me). The meat pieces were tender and good. The crackling pork pieces were super crispy and gave a nice texture to the dish.
- A10 Braised Pork Dry Tossed Noodle: the curly noodle was firmer type than A1 and had a bit of chew (which was similar to instant noodle) and I prefer this. The braised pork was flavorful and delicious!
- B11 Preserved Duck Egg with Tofu: the tofu was soft and was a good combo with the preserved duck egg. The egg itself didn’t have very strong taste so it was very pleasant. The spicy sauce was mild for me but the overall dish was good.
- C1 Old Gui Lin Boba Milk Tea (less sugar): good and milky. The less sugar version was the perfect sweetness for us. The boba pieces were chewy and good.“

“The Google description hits on all the great things about this place. The food is legit, the people working are really helpful and kind. For example, they recommended we order less cause the portions are large enough for 2 kids to share 1 bowl. That attitude is appreciated. Food came out quick, the foods delicious and fresh. Will definitely make my way back here.“

“Total hole in the wall dim sum spot downtown that's always worth stopping in for some great food. Youu gotta get in early and with cash- they won't take a card and run out of nearly everything by late linch. The pork bao and sesame balls are amazing. Pretty solid menu ranging from dim sum to entres and side dishes- but again, their dim sum menu is what I'd recommend. The egg rolls are greasy, but if crispy greasy egg rolls are your thing- can't think of any place I've had better.“

“I got takeout and ordered by calling in. The order only took 15-20 minutes. The food was good. Chicken chow mein, salted egg yolk shrimp and pumpkin, steam chicken with chili sauce, and chicken wings. I didn't expect the steam chicken to be cold but the sauce with peanuts, cilantro, and chili oil was delicious.“

“This is one of those “hole in the wall” spots with really great food and decent prices you don’t wanna miss! We stopped here on a whim, and walked in to a completely empty unassuming place where they had an s Warriors game on TV (which we loved as Dub heads lol) and sat down. We ordered honey walnut shrimp (YUM) and a variety of other dishes that were really, really great! We walked out full with enough food for dinner both of us and lunch for him the next day 😂 Definitely going back - I keep thinking about that honey walnut shrimp and the pork fried rice!“

“Yue Huang in the Natomas area earns its hype in the Sac area. There is almost always a line for dim sum on the weekends so be prepared for that. YH is a fun place to go to because the exterior and bathrooms scream Macaroni Grill, but walking inside it becomes a classic Chinese dim sum banquet hall! This review is based on their dim sum menu.
Yue Huang has a bunch of options and my wife and I intend to eat through their entire menu to try to distill our favorite things. So far we have thoroughly enjoyed their shanghai pan-fried buns, steam rice roll w/breadstick, steam golden shrimp rice roll, and crispy pork belly.
I highly recommend you go with a group of adventurous eaters because as any good dim sum veteran knows: more people means more dishes you can try!“

“Kiwi juice with Boba is so good my favorite.
For some reason I thought this was the same as lollicup lol but this is the restaurant side. Never been here before, the lady that answered the phone when I called didn’t really want to help but I understand because I didn’t know exactly what was the name of the soup I was looking for ( my niece recommended) but expected that in person she would be more friendly but she was in the middle ( nice but rude at the same time) but I have to be honest the soup I got it was number A16 was not good for my taste and my honest opinion, had no flavor, I expected more , will I come again? Yeah maybe , and maybe try something different .“

“We decided to try this place on a whim since we pass by it diving to our gym all the time. We ordered pork fried rice, pork chow mien, general Tao chicken, and Mongolian beef. 2 adults and one very hungry teenager ate and we had enough for left overs for all of us the next day. The food was the best Chinese food I've had in a while and definitely the best tasting in the area. Portions were generous, staff was super friendly, place was clean... what more could you ask for? We're already ordering again since my son requested it for his birthday dinner. This is now our go to for Chinese.“

“Amazing pho and I appreciate that they take a student discount for Sacramento State students. My friend and I used to go to other pho places that would be very busy and would forget requests that we would have, but this location would be very attentive and remember if we had asked for more water, limes, etc. I love the calm vibe and it is so relaxing after a long day at work.“

“This was a decent, quick dumpling place. Not the best around, but not the worst! Would definitely try again for take-out. I had the pork & shrimp dumplings as well as the chicken & corn, costing 33 dollars after tax. Both were tasty and served hot. Serving sizes are generous for the price, and one serving of dumplings is plenty for one person. Packaging was cute as well, I appreciate it wasn't served in some giant styrofoam box“
“Overall, it was a decent experience. However, the portion sizes were somewhat disappointing, and the noodles were overly salty.
The dumplings were good, the service was decent, and the atmosphere had the charm of an old-school Chinese restaurant. I expected much more based on the reviews, but in the end, it was still a reasonably enjoyable meal.“

“Love this place. Been going since early 90s. Moved to North Carolina back in 2001 and yes I shipped C for four to north carolina. Worth every penny. Coming back to Sac this week for vacation. Always a place I go when visiting. In the south everybody talks about soul food. It's good and all but this is truly my soul food.“

“Coming from the bay this place hits! Jook / rice porridge is on point in terms of flavor.
Good value and amount of meat
Aunties on point
English speakers here
you come for the food
No thrills interior
Let the food do the talking
Service is above standard for a place like this
Seems like they know names of long time customers
Porridge breaks 10 minutes later. Maybe better in the am
Soup fully break 20 minutes. It's the best in Sacramento so I'm ok with that. You get crazy amount of meat inside
Aww customer share celebration dessert with workers here.“

“First time coming to this place, I’m so glad that they opened in Sacramento as I’m always craving for some Chinese local food such as skewers and spicy food 🥘. Price is reasonable to me that they currently have discount for students and those who shared the their promotion flyer on social media. Must try: lamb / pork belly with mushrooms/ oyster/ pancakes/ rice noodles and dumplings 🥟. Will come back soon:) good luck on your new business 🤗“

“Looking for delicious Chinese food. I came here a couple times and wanted to see if my 3rd time was as I remembered. Yes, the food is as tasty as I remembered. the wide noodle chow fung, sweet and sour pork and fried rice were all good. Big portions too. For a solo person this is portions for a 5 person meal. Staff is wonderful and attentive, prices are nicely not overpriced and it is a cute restaurant. However, it can get noisy and seating is limited. Definitely a highly recommended restaurant.“

“We attended on an unassuming Saturday evening in December. We noticed that no music plays, but that was pleasant to me. Not much of the restaurant was filled up, as it seems takeout and food courier services are frequent. However, we were greeted quickly and friendlily.
It took maybe 5 minutes to order and a proper few more to receive our food. However, we did receive it all at the same time, for which I grateful.
The pork chow mein was appreciatively lacking in sugar; however, one member of the party remarked that it was a tad salty for them. We enjoyed a very solid and well-portioned mandarin chicken (with baby corn).
Finally, we tried the shrimp-stuffed fried tofu, which I must recommend to anyone willing to try something. It is silk tofu (very soft) with a mince shrimp ball placed on top, all fried and coated in a light, savory sauce. There were 8 pieces in the portion, and I could have eaten them all myself. I will likely come back for this.“

“I think they have the best chow mein in town. And they make really good hamburgers (and perfect fries) for less than any of our local chain store/fast food places.Their broccoli beef is super yummy too. So to their fried rice. I haven't tried much else from their extensive menu but I suppose I should because I like all their food that I have tried. I am also very sensitive to MSG and have never ever gotten a headache after eating their food; and I react quickly and painfully to even a trace of that stuff in my food.
This is a take-out location. There is no seating for eating there, but they are fast with any order. Call your order in and it'll be ready when you get there.“

“Why do the serve spaghetti at a Chinese restaurant? It taste good though. Smothered in cheese. I think the sauce is sweet and sour sauce. Happy hour drinks take forever to prepare and service needs work. Minus one star. Try the giant pork leg too.“

“Extremely surprised how clean, comfortable, new this place is for a spot in Sacramento. Definitely a vibe here, Cantonese influenced, food is delicious and tasty as would expect from a Cantonese establishment. They play Cantonese and mandarin songs which also makes it feel like you’re in Hong Kong eating/ dining. This plus they got karaoke rooms, pretty awesome concept! ??“
“Regardless what some reviews said about their food vs the Welco down the street, you get a better tasting Chicken fry than Welco. Better Chow Mein than Welco. And guess what, a better value.Every time I go to Raley, Albertson and even Belair to get some Chinese food, especially hot and ready, it reminds me of my father taking me there. Now I shared the same passion. Of course every once in awhile for them hot and ready, otherwise I prefer freshly cook.Welco doesn't offer that same passion along with taste with the price hike. Smh, some reviewers need to visit Sizzling Wok with that same hunger and passion.“

“We were traveling to Lake Tahoe. We passed through Sacramento and ate Asian food called Yum Cha Cafe (on the right side of the Shunfa SF Supermarket on 65th Street. We ate their roast duck, barbecued pork buns, shrimp balls, and barbecue. , fried noodles, siomai, their roast duck is so famous and really delicious. Very good seasoning, very fresh, plump and elastic meat. This is the most valuable roast duck in this area. I only had it in Hong Kong last time. I'm so happy today. I tasted such a good taste again. My family and I are very happy. I recommend it to everyone. You must try it. It's incredible.“

“Sonora location. Tried when first opened and few weeks ago. It was clean (new) and great service. Re-visited yesterday and totally the opposite! Counter was dirty, all food was low. It was 4 o’clock and not busy. The cook, other gentleman and waitress was very unprofessional and unsanitary! The cook, yes while wearing gloves, continued to touch dirty services and our food. At one point he had his cell phone in his hand looking at it while cooking our food. Phone back in dirty pocket, touching his hair then back to cooking our food! The conversation between the three of them were load and unprofessional. I was so ready to leave! Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.“

“Delicious and excellent service, as always. Loud noise from families with small children who did not supervise behavior on Labor Day holiday weekend. Better to eat here later at night or during the week when families with small children are less in attendance. No fault of the restaurant!“
