We played a couple rounds of pool here and I got an apple martini which was super strong. It's unfortunate that this place is cash only with a high ATM fee and it costs $3 to play 1 game of pool. Drinks are not too expensive so that's a plus. It's also cool that this bar is in a Victorian house.
I stopped in Sacramento while visiting my girlfriend. I was looking for a quick spot for us to grab drinks and the Mercantile was recommended to us. The atmosphere was nice, we really liked the old school theme. However, after walking up to the bar it took forever to be greeted. Monnica introduced herself and we then ordered our drinks. they had very little alcohol. We asked about this and she said she did it correctly then rolled her eyes. Our very favorite weekend gay bar! We arrive early in the night and usually stay until after midnight. Great staff, we love our bartender Chris!! Great casual handout with good music (a digital jukebox) and good people. They pour strong, cheap drinks too!
