Naoki Japanese Cuisine is an outstanding Japanese restaurant in Sacramento, considered by many to offer the best sushi in the city. The quality of fish is exceptional, featuring dry aged otoro, chutoro, and dry aged 30 day salmon and tuna. Dishes like the Hinoka roll, pepperfin, nigiri, and sashimi are consistently described as delicious, fresh, full of flavor, and absolutely superb. The tempura is noted as excellent and the best in town, and unique dishes like the Salmon Skin Salad, Dancing Mushrooms, and Seafood Nachos are favorites. The uni pass is also highlighted as off the chart.

The atmosphere is beautiful, relaxed, and chill, with a great vibe that works for a date night or dinner with friends. There is lots of seating at the sushi bar where chefs prepare the food, along with booths and tables. The staff and sushi chefs are extremely friendly, super nice, welcoming, and excellent. They are knowledgeable, happy to share their craft, and provide great service and recommendations. While very busy at times, the staff works hard to accommodate guests. On rare occasions, an order may be incorrect, but the team is always willing and ready to correct it promptly. The experience is a rare treat in the US, on the level of a high-end sushi restaurant in Tokyo, making it a spot customers plan to return to again and again.
