Food: $8 for 2 pc sake (salmon) nigiri. Fish portion is huge and fresh. Sushi rice is prepared and seasoned well. $13 for chicken karaage. Super crunchy, marinated thigh pieces served with lemon and spicy mayo. Also a good portion.

Packaging: My to-go order was packaged in all recyclable or biodegradable materials! This is something I dont always see here in Sacramento. Staff also asked what supplies I might need (chopsticks, wasabi, soy sauce) to cut down on waste. Really appreciate these conscientious business practices.

Ambience: There is bar seating by the sushi chef. More bar further away. Tables are spacious and comfy looking. TVs showing sports games when I went in. I'll definitely be back for dining in to have a beer and dinner! See you soon.“

“Don't sleep on Azayaka Japanese Fusion!

Had lunch here with the husband and we were both extremely satisfied with our meals. We ordered the chu toro carpaccio, house ramen, chicken katsu, fire dragon roll and double toro roll. The fish was fresh, the katsu was banging and the ramen hit the spot. I wished the toro was a little more fatty and my husband was hoping the ramen would be spicer, but both were still good. Come for lunch, which was when we came, to get their lunch special. A specialized lunch menu that includes 2 appetizers (smaller portion than regular), a main dish or roll, and a drink.

The service was great so we will definitely be back. They do offer omakase that requires advanced reservations, so hopefully we’ll get to try this out soon.“

“Been coming here for years. The owners are super nice. There are several business clustered together and sometimes parking can be a challenge. The teriyaki chicken is plentiful and cooked just right. I love their teriyaki sauce. Every place makes their sesame chicken different, theirs is thin and crunchy, seems like a pounded out fillet of breast. Plenty of tables if you wish to stay and eat, I usually call ahead for a to go order.“

“I love to do my grocery shopping in Oto’s Marketplace. They have more of my favorite Japanese groceries, snacks, sashimi, and small appliances in stock than any other supermarket in Sacramento.

The store has an excellent layout, and very friendly workers work there. I wish they had a bigger parking lot because I often had difficulty getting parking spaces!“

“My absolute favorite sushi spot! The food is amazing. Get the Teriyaki Maki roll it’s the best! I was iffy about having chicken in my sushi but it is AMAZING. This was crap and I can't believe they served it to us after we had just spent a bunch of money eating in. We won't be back. If getting to go, check your food. “Very surprised to see a drive thru at a teriyaki chicken restaurant. To much of our surprise, it was a quick and easy process in the drive thru. Food came out hot and delicious. Ordered the chicken egg rolls but didn’t see any chicken mostly cabbage but it still had a decent flavor. I appreciate that they supplied eating utensils and napkins even though we forgot to ask for any.“

“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“
