“Got the super star roll, hand roll, and mix tempura. Sushi was very good, especially the hand rolls. The sushi rolls had a perfect rice mix ratio and it was delicious. The mix tempura was just ok. Tempura batter was kinda thick, hard, and too crunchy, hence the 4 stars. At the moment, Chef Frank is probably my favorite sushi spot.“

They also have cooked foods, appetizers, soups, and all sorts of interesting dishes. And to top it all off, they have a full bar with lots of unique and very affordable drink options! The service is pretty fast and the fish is actually pretty good for all you can eat. I'd definitely consider coming back again sometime!“

“We were visiting Sacramento for 1 day and saw the reviews for Sushi Cafe - so we tried it out - and we weren't disappointed. The sushi was very good, the staff was friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. The only thing that disappointed was the Oyako Don - which was overcooked. All in all - this was a great find.“

“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“

“The food was amazing here! We ran in here trying to grab something before the show at the Imax. We told them we needed to be out fast and they were great and made it happen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Wasn't expecting the food to be much but was surprised. It is top quality food and at cheaper pricing than you can get elsewhere for sushi. And rolls were a nice, generous size.“

“Absolutely the best sushi in Sacramento. I discovered them on a date, we decided sushi on a whim when the raman place several blocks into mid town was closed. It was during the transition of new ownership before their official re-grand opening. They had for the first time cut their dry aged tuna sashimi. My girlfriend and I had just finished and we're about to pay when the owners stopped us for a sampling after we had just finished one of the best sushi meals we have ever had.

The dry aged sashimi was the icing on the cake, it had a clean and buttery flavor. The fish melted in our mouths and was unlike anything we had ever had before. Since then we have gone back several times and it has become our favorite restaurant.

The spicy edamame is also the best I have ever eaten, the other dry aged options available are also just as amazing.

I highly recommend ordering the real hand grated wasabi and skipping the stuff from the tube. If you order the dry age, it comes with a serving that for us was able to be used across 2 rolls.

The presentation of the food also met every expectation I could have had entering the restaurant.“

“All you eat shushi buffet, order abd they’ll make fresh and can also order from the menu as well. Prices vary from lunch to dinner was $27, plus drinks and takeout box was $6 time a tiny box that only fits 8 shushi. Order digitally from the table. This place is always packed, arrive early. Ice cream is one scoop per bowl, so order two for each person. Same with appetizers 2 pieces per order, so order more than one! Not bad for the prices. If you love shushi this is the place for you!“

“This is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento without question. I moved to the area about three years ago now, and it quickly became my go-to comfort food. Even when the pandemic started and the restaurant shifted to takeout-only, the food remained consistently excellent. I also want to say 'thank you' to the couple that runs the restaurant as well. They're both very kind and treat their customers well. P.S. I heartily recommend the house-made Thai iced tea.“

“First time eating here we arrived at 4:15PM an early dinner before a comedy show. The hubby and I ordered bento boxes and sushi on the side.

Food was average, service was good our waitress was polite, professional and courteous. The atmosphere was pleasant, somewhat moody with black furniture, black ceilings and walls with pops of white and red tables. Plenty of televisions throughout the restaurant six in total.

A steady flow of customers streamed in and out while we were dining. I’m sure it’s busier later in the evening.“

“We love this place. Much attention is given to presentation and the food is excellent. This time we tried the Black Cod Steak. Cooked perfectly in a lovely sauce on top of asparagus.
Their starters are also very good. In addition to the Sonomono we tried the breaded fried Oysters that came with a creamy crab dipping sauce. Again, excellent. If you are adventurous or just love trying new tasty foods you will love this place. It is small and you will want to get there early, if you don’t want to wait.“

“Ate in and the food was decent. Got a to go order for my family member and it has zero sauce and was obviously rushed and thrown together lazily. The to-go should at least resemble the dine in food. The exact same roll ended up looking like crap and had no sauce at all. What a bummer..when you pay a premium for sushi you should get decent sushi. This was crap and I can't believe they served it to us after we had just spent a bunch of money eating in. We won't be back. If getting to go, check your food. They do not care about the customer and will sneak awful rolls into your bag without care.“

“The staff are very friendly and professional. The food is delicious. I’ve never been unsatisfied with a dish I’ve ordered here, and we probably go once a month. The Lion King roll and Crazy Roll are personal favorites. The agedashi tofu and bbq albacore are also quite good! The restaurant doesn’t have the biggest footprint so it can get busy and a little loud during peak dinner hours. However, if you’re going for lunch or early dinner then it’s a very nice and relaxing place to be.“
