“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“

“Just finished lunch. Absolutely excellent. We started with the Mixed Tempura and the Pork Gyoza. My wife had the Chubby Andy roll and I had the Katsudon. The mixed tempura was perfect. The sweet potato and the kabocha are always the test and these were tender without being too soft. The gyoza were delicious. The Chubby Andy is a great roll. Huge flavor with a fantastic sauce. The Katsudon was first rate. This is the best Katsudon in Sacramento.

I understand you can’t make everyone happy, but am surprised the reviews are not higher. “Newer place in Sac my sister wanted to try for her birthday dinner. She made a reservation for 4 at 5:30pm on a Sunday but when we walked it there were a lot of empty tables and we were seated quickly.

The uni pasta was super creamy and we ordered 6 different rolls which all tasted top tier. The presentation for the chef choice nigiri was stunning

For the amount of food we got the bill was much lower than I expected. We all walked out very full and happy — would recommend if in the area“

“All you eat shushi buffet, order abd they’ll make fresh and can also order from the menu as well. Prices vary from lunch to dinner was $27, plus drinks and takeout box was $6 time a tiny box that only fits 8 shushi. Order digitally from the table. This place is always packed, arrive early. Ice cream is one scoop per bowl, so order two for each person. Same with appetizers 2 pieces per order, so order more than one! Not bad for the prices. If you love shushi this is the place for you!“

Their sides were also incredible and interesting for AYCE. Will definitely be coming back. Seaweed that was used on the rolls were also high quality.“

“This is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento without question. I moved to the area about three years ago now, and it quickly became my go-to comfort food. Even when the pandemic started and the restaurant shifted to takeout-only, the food remained consistently excellent. I also want to say 'thank you' to the couple that runs the restaurant as well. “First time eating here we arrived at 4:15PM an early dinner before a comedy show. The hubby and I ordered bento boxes and sushi on the side.

Food was average, service was good our waitress was polite, professional and courteous. The atmosphere was pleasant, somewhat moody with black furniture, black ceilings and walls with pops of white and red tables. Plenty of televisions throughout the restaurant six in total.

A steady flow of customers streamed in and out while we were dining. I’m sure it’s busier later in the evening.“

“Ate in and the food was decent. Got a to go order for my family member and it has zero sauce and was obviously rushed and thrown together lazily. The to-go should at least resemble the dine in food. The exact same roll ended up looking like crap and had no sauce at all. What a bummer..when you pay a premium for sushi you should get decent sushi. This was crap and I can't believe they served it to us after we had just spent a bunch of money eating in. We won't be back. If getting to go, check your food. They do not care about the customer and will sneak awful rolls into your bag without care.“

“We love this place. Much attention is given to presentation and the food is excellent. This time we tried the Black Cod Steak. Cooked perfectly in a lovely sauce on top of asparagus.
Their starters are also very good. In addition to the Sonomono we tried the breaded fried Oysters that came with a creamy crab dipping sauce. Again, excellent. If you are adventurous or just love trying new tasty foods you will love this place. It is small and you will want to get there early, if you don’t want to wait.“

“The staff are very friendly and professional. The food is delicious. I’ve never been unsatisfied with a dish I’ve ordered here, and we probably go once a month. The Lion King roll and Crazy Roll are personal favorites. The agedashi tofu and bbq albacore are also quite good! The restaurant doesn’t have the biggest footprint so it can get busy and a little loud during peak dinner hours. However, if you’re going for lunch or early dinner then it’s a very nice and relaxing place to be.“

The seared salmon sashimi comes with fancy wasabi that's so freaking tasty. I would literally pay extra for sides of the wasabi and I have at other ayce places. It's so good. I order tremendous amounts of it.

The hand rolls are served like tacos with a good fish: rice ratio on beautiful laser etched stainless handroll holders.

They have fruits too served buffet style. I always get a bunch of lycee and whatever the relative of it they serve too. The fruit is typically in season and high quality .

I like the clay pot udon. It usually comes out sizzling like fajitas and then they warn you that it's hot.

Their portions are good and small so you can usually try lots of things if you want but I usually stick to the salmon and lychee

They have the ice cream cups from school lunches to go when you leave, with a little wooden spoon and everything.

I find the service very fast even as they get busy because the all the servers work all the tables but they can get very busy.“

There was a special plate chute that triggered a toy dispenser after so many plates, and gave out neat little keychains. The kids really enjoyed the whole experience, including the drink serving robot.“
