“My boyfriend and I now frequent Sushi Star since discovering the place a couple of months ago! It’s always very clean. A very pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress has always been Yi. She is very pleasant and thorough. Now, then there is the master sushi chef, Eric! IOHO we think he makes the best sushi we have ever had hands down! Our BIGGEST RECOMMENDATION IS THE BAKED SCALLOPS! ABSOLUTELY DYNAMITE! Thanks guys! Neil & Courtney“

“Excellent meal. Every dish was very good. Classic yet complex. High quality.
We had scallop phyllo, oysters, sashimi, a couple of rolls, and the miso brule.
Service was excellent.
Parking: Street parking can be hard. There's a garage nearby that has plenty of space.“

“I’ve been here probably 6 times now, and I honestly don’t understand how it continues to get better! Normally your first experience is great, and then it goes downhill from there. This last time I went was by far my favorite experience, they’re making the plates look more and more beautiful, and the taste of the rolls is phenomenal!!! The decor is simple, cute and clean, and the staff is so incredibly friendly! I want to take everyone I know here, lol!
They also are partnered with Fukumi, the noodle restaurant which is amazing! So I would recommend signing up for their rewards because they offer really good rewards with their point system.“

“I love this place! I tend to prefer the quiet off hours here which are perfect. Quiet and the staff is wonderful, polite and attentive. I like to sit at the Sushi Bar and chat with Peter. My go to place these days. Amazing Sashimi, rolls and house salad dressing.“

“The food here is amazingly fresh and delicious! Order the spicy edamame and it comes in a spicy sauce that doubles as an awesome dipping sauce for your rolls! So good the chef mixed me up a batch to take home! Only restaurant for us in the area!“

“My friend and I came in as we were checking out the new Raley’s ONE Market. We were greeted with a clean and open styled restaurant. A smaller restaurant but organized well to maximize usable table space. The staff were kind and attentive. Our waitress assisted and explained to another customer the menu and was very patient. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki combo which came with your choice of two meats, rice, soup, salad, mixed tempura, and 2 pieces of gyoza. The food was exactly what listed and as described. It had good flavor and the temperature was spot on. My friend got the chicken ramen at mild heat and she had mentioned that is was probably the best ramen she’s ever had. I would recommend this place not only for the food and service but the pricing was great as well. I’m glad to see a small sushi restaurant that is actually good.“

“Right when you walk in you can feel the positive energy. The waitress was friendly and let us sit where we wanted. The food came out quick.
My wife and I were impressed by the quality of the food. I'd highly recommend this place! We ordered the 911 and a Lion King. Both were exceptional. The price is about mid ranged.
The sushi rolls are big and have a lot of depth for flavor. The 911 has a good kick of spice and sauce. The Lion King was nice and hot, it came out on a sushi place.
Again, I'd highly recommend this place.“

“Friendly waitress and awesome foods! Fish quality is great. Food portion is delicious and huge (Chirashi). Love the thick slices of salmon sashimi I had today. I recommend this restaurant because the prices are reasonable for what you get :) I will try their other dishes next time.
Parking: Good amount of parking space“

“Very nice dining experience. Was part of about a 50 person party for lunch - pretty much filled the restaurant. They were prepared and served additional regular guests with the same level of personal attention they would normally get. They served drinks individually and treated each person as an individual. My pictures don't do it justice. Highly recommend for very enjoyable lunch or dinner experience - local or business traveler. Thank you!!!“

“I popped in for a quick lunch and, as always, sushi was calling my name. The experience began with a warm greeting that set a positive tone for the meal.
We started with gyoza, perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully tender inside—an excellent appetizer. The flaming mushrooms added a fun twist, delivering a rich crab stuffed flavor with just the right amount of heat.
For the main event, the Jerry and Carmen Roll did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients and a harmonious blend of flavors made each bite a delight.
Overall, the customer service was outstanding, and the food was amazing. This spot is perfect for a satisfying, quick meal. Highly recommend!“

“Mikuni has a great reputation for Sushi already, and this new location did not disappoint. Beautifully appointed restaurant, two bars, sushi, and drink. Lots of seating. The fish was fresh. The plates were beautiful, and the food was delicious. The staff was attentive. I arrived hyst before happy hour ended, but the waitress allowed me to order starters for the table with just two minutes left, even though my friends weren't there yet. We'll definitely return.“

“Went there for the first time this weekend. Server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients. As someone who has a gluten and dairy intolerance, that was very comforting. I do wish they had top allergens marked on the menu but that's just me. The food was also very good!“

“In a nutshell; good food, 50% advertised rolls (feels more like 25% in today's economy), odd spot for a restaurant to be at though.
Imagine there's a sushi Restaurant randomly in the back of a winco or a foodmaxx or something alike, that's how it seems where this Restaurant was at. Nevertheless, despite initial appearances, the place felt almost like a hole In a wall type of establishment, the inside almost feel similar to a home as it is family owned and feels rather close to actual local establishments in Japan. 50% off sushi sounds too good to be true but the sushi is actually rather decent, though if you aren't careful you'd find yourself still paying for a hefty price (considering today's economy and all). Server was nice. Food didn't take long at all. Glad with the overall experience. The bathroom's also odd though cause it's locked oddly. You are prompted to knock before entering which is odd.“

“Came in without a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. Staff was friendly and quick. The food is the same standard that you'd expect so no complaints. Overall it was a good experience.
Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled vegetarian options. I'd recommend the vegten roll.
Parking: It's a pretty busy plaza so it was pretty hard to find parking.“

“Otoro Sushi in Sacramento is a top-notch spot for sushi lovers. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a perfect blend of traditional and modern decor. The fish is incredibly fresh, and the Otoro Nigiri is a must-try. Friendly and attentive staff enhance the dining experience, and the prices are reasonable for the quality offered. Highly recommended!“

“We were looking for a new sushi place nearby and were pleasantly surprised by Sora Sushi. We have only been there for dinner and have enjoyed each meal and starter that we’ve tried. The atmosphere, music, and ESPECIALLY the customer service is second to none. Highly recommend!!“

“Just got to try this place out for the first time in 24 years. Living in the area I’d pass by and today I decided to try it and it did not disappoint. The service was great. A woman served me and my date, she was lovely. And the food was even better. The lady helped us set up sake bombs. Will be coming back. This place became my new favorite sushi restaurant. Fish tasted fresh and the food was delicious. Highly recommend“

“Taiko Japanese restaurant was a nice place to eat overall. The environment was a bit strange, almost like a food court experience because the area is shared with another eatery establishment which was kinda of confusing when we entered. It seems a lot of regular customers just go up to the counter and grab a menu and seat themselves unlike how we stood there waiting to be seated, it's not very clear what you're supposed to do.
Other than that the food was quite good and the service was prompt. The menu wasn't overzealous but they had a good amount of choices to choose from.“

“Sushi was better before 2020, used to be a regular before.
Getting better! The water we had was good. Not a fancy sushi place, so the decor is not outstanding.
I had a bento box and was delicious. I didn't order sushi because of the change in chef, but this was what I hoped.
Husband had soup and enjoyed it. He is a picky eater, so he wasn't super impressed. He does always enjoy the sea steak though.“

“I recently dined here with a group of 17, and we ordered a lot of sushi. We were very pleased with the flavors and variety of choices available. However, the dessert didn't quite match up to the quality of the sushi. The deep-fried banana was too soggy, possibly because the banana was too ripe. The donuts and sesame balls were average. Despite this, the service and serving time were impressively fast, and the staff managed to keep up with our large group efficiently.“

“I commend Roku for their excellent food quality. The Tempura is perfect. Authentic Tempura as ypu can get. It is obvious they change their tempura frying oil, and it doesn't have that motor oil soaked look. The pop corn shrimp special is da bomb. Like walnut shrimp but with pine nuts. You can enjoy it, the butter lettuce it came with. The steamed rice is also excellent and goes well with any entree on the menu. Price is on the high side, but no regrets as you get excellent tasty food. Clean and modern vibes with friendly it staff. I just wish their bento box options would offer more combinations. Overall, excellent Japanese neighborhood restaurant.“

“Pretty solid experience! The signature rolls were really good! We got the sushi boat for $50, which is a fantastic deal!
The nigiri was not our favorite, but didn't taste bad. Would not order the miso soup again, just not super flavorful.
It also did take awhile to get the food.
All that said, we will be coming again for the rolls. The person running the front was so nice and welcoming. Great experience, just stick to rolls!“

“Ran in for a quick takeaway order. I'm impressed bc the food is tasty, the staff is polite, the dining room is cute, and the business is environmentally friendly.
Food: $8 for 2 pc sake (salmon) nigiri. Fish portion is huge and fresh. Sushi rice is prepared and seasoned well. $13 for chicken karaage. Super crunchy, marinated thigh pieces served with lemon and spicy mayo. Also a good portion.
Packaging: My to-go order was packaged in all recyclable or biodegradable materials! This is something I dont always see here in Sacramento. Staff also asked what supplies I might need (chopsticks, wasabi, soy sauce) to cut down on waste. Really appreciate these conscientious business practices.
Ambience: There is bar seating by the sushi chef. More bar further away. Tables are spacious and comfy looking. TVs showing sports games when I went in. I'll definitely be back for dining in to have a beer and dinner! See you soon.“

“First time here. Tried the all you can eat for $38 and thought that was a bit pricey but wanted to try something new. Confused why the rice had a purple tint to it. But all the rolls we tried were good. Everything tasted fresh and not over cooked. Really enjoyed the ebi and baked lobster roll was our favorite. Wanted to order more but our waiter wasn't really coming to our table had us waiting to order more. Store was clean and not busy when we went st lunch time. Will return
Kid-friendliness: Had options for our 3 year to eat with us. He really enjoyed the French fries“

“Went here for Valentine’s Day with my partner and we really enjoyed it here! It’s be very affordable (especially both of us l l working at minimum wage jobs) and the quality of the food was amazing! The service was pretty good but there were times the manager would be a bit hard on our server but I didn’t mind it too much. She was probably stressed out but she did a great job! Definitely will come back here soon!“
