A secret gym hidden in midtown that I hope the masses never find out about. Most families go to South Sac for dim sum, but on the weekends you can expect long wait times and crowded tables. My family of 11 walked straight through New Canton's doors at 11 am on a Saturday morning with no trouble. Restaurant is located upstairs-which is accessible by elevator or stairs. There's a noticeable lack of dim sum restaurants in the greater Sacramento/Davis area, so I've ended up at New Canton's door quite a few times. Comparatively to the ones I've been to in Southern California, either a smaller number of guests or some other factor results in a smaller number of options to choose from, room temperature or below room temperature food, or slow food turnover time. Wasn't a fan. We had Dim Sum for dinner and it tasted poorly. I think it had been sitting there since lunch, was pretty bad. We ordered a fresh dish off their dinner menu and it was wonderful. So, maybe for lunch Dim Sum would be better.
