This coffee shop doesn't have tasty foods. Probably should stick to coffee. Ordered a chorizo scramble, when it came, it was just the taste of chorizo. It was like they had chorizo juice, squirted a little in the eggs, and then made an omelet, not a scramble. The employees were nice. It did take a long time for our table to get all of our orders.

There’s nothing particularly soulful about this Old Soul location: every patron inside looked miserable. Maybe because 2 sandwiches and a single mocha plus a 20% tip comes out to $42. The Midtown greed has gotten out of control. I DO enjoy tipping, don’t get it confused. The problem is not the tip; it’s the $13.25 plus tax for a small veggie sandwich. I guess I thought it would be massive for that price. To be fair it did come with a small salad… but all I really would have liked is a decent sized sandwich. If you want a hefty sandwich for $13 I would stick to the Sandwich Spot in Land Park.
Update after owner’s response: it’s not that your business didn’t fit my “budget and taste” as you said. I had the budget to spend $13 per sandwich, and I wanted the ingredients on said sandwich, hence why I chose it. It was just a tiny sandwhich… too tiny…on a couple micro pieces of Orowheat toast that certainly didn’t seem baked “in house”. My partner’s chicken sandwich was on fluffy focaccia that seemed pretty fresh- I’ll give you that. But geez…the veggie sandwich was silly.
Also I’m not “assuming” the customers were miserable: they were! Normally in a little cafe you might observe sounds like; soft music from the speakers, light chatter, clicking of laptops…but this place… it was so eerie you could hear a pin drop. Staff and customers alike looked morose.
Great vibe, great tea (according to my friends), great French onion soup - cup was full to the brim. The soup and the onions were a tiny bit too rich for me (my stomach was a bit unsettled) but the cheesy bread on top was SO good.
We went at around 2pm on a Sunday and it was bustling but not crowded. Lots of people with laptops or tablets doing work. Also a good bit of conversation. Crowd leaned young. One wall absolutely covered in flyers for community events.

The table I sat at hadn't been wiped clean beforehand. A seemingly crazy homeless man was sitting inside harassing customers. When I went to order I was told the cook was on break so only a pre-made breakfast bagel was available.

What a bad time.
The girl at the register was fair skinned, thin, and short. She has like a low pitched, but high pitched baby voice and she messed up our order. My drink was fully wrong, and she didnt even get the 2nd drink to the Barista (we were charged for it). We had to ask the barista, and she said she didnt get the order. The cashier seemed to have some fake surprise with a "Oh my gosh, really?"
Girl, what is this fake attitude. Couldnt order food because there was an hour wait. We were told they only had one cook. Not sure if that is the normal or they were down one cook.
However, negative experience. The only positive thing was the barista who fixed our drinks immediately.
Would not recommend this place.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this coffee shop. Ordered a decaf vanilla brown sugar latte as well as a regular vanilla latte. The vanilla latte, the coffee was burnt and really gross and watered down. With the decaf latte… it tasted like sawdust. Didn’t taste any coffee. I was disappointed by this coffee shop and will not be back. It’s pretty cute outside on the patio though. For $6 a cup it’s really disappointing.

Was visiting the area and will definitely be back. Friendly staff, great cappuccino and the food was delicious. It’s in a quaint part of the city and in a very cool building. While I was there they got a pretty large 9 o’clock rush. Seems like a highly respected neighborhood coffee shop/cafe.
