Cafe Paso, also known as Uptown Grounds, is a coffee shop in Sacramento that offers excellent coffee and aims to serve the local community. The new management provides great service, and the artwork inside is impressive. They serve a variety of food items, although the pastries are store-bought and not recommended. The atmosphere is welcoming and suited for meetings or hanging out. The cafe is at the heart of Uptown Sacramento, also called DPH, and is dedicated to fostering arts and culture that positively impact the neighborhood. It is partnered with Sac Youth Center, showing a strong commitment to the community. The staff, including a personable barista, often goes out of their way to provide good customer service, such as bringing drinks directly to cars. Although the location can be a bit tricky to find and is in a somewhat sketchy area, especially at night, visitors are encouraged to support the staff, many of whom are part of the Youth Center program.
