“Swung by here to break up a 4 hour drive between SLO and SF, this was a perfect halfway spot to stop and get a bite to eat and enjoy the scenery and park across the street. Friendly staff greeted us when we walked in. The menu has plenty of options, so we ordered a few items. We ordered a calamari sandwich, jalapeno burger, fries, and fried zucchini. The outdoor seating area next to the lagoon is great, really pretty and calming to relax at after being on the road for 2 hours. Dog friendly too, so that was a big plus.
The food came out pretty quickly. Good size on all of the food, more than enough to eat for the two of us and our toddler. My calamari sandwich was delicious, perfectly fried and not greasy. The sourdough bread was a really nice choice to balance out all of calamari, tartar sauce and veggies. My wife's burger was loaded up with all of the fixing and it was a nice and juicy patty. It was quite good with the heat from the jalapenos. Crinkle cut fries were a fun surprise, cooked perfectly and not greasy. The fried zucchini were awesome, larger than anticipated and really juicy. Overall a great pitstop on a long drive, though I would certainly go out of my way a bit to eat here again!

“My husband and I found Local after a long weekend of moving shortly after Christmas this year. We were starving and our new place was just up the street so we popped in to support a local business! (We are also restaurant owners!) And from the first bite of our BBQ brisket and Hot Italian sandwiches we were hooked! Now every Saturday or Sunday when we’re free we stop in for sandwiches! We’ve tried almost every one on the menu and I have not one complaint! Incredible ingredients, super consistent and just in general absolutely delicious food! The owner is super nice and friendly too so the service is always great. Our kids love the burgers and chicken pesto sandwiches, so if you have picky eaters there are plenty of options! If you haven’t tried it and you live in Marina or are stopping through on your way to or from the Peninsula skip the high priced restaurants downtown with sub par lunch and grab a sandwich to take to the Marina beach or eat it there!“
