Gold Leaf Spice & Teas is a hidden gem and a true gem, a tiny hole in the wall with a tea bar, bookshelves, a marble counter, and a few tables. The atmosphere is cheery and kind, perfect for unplugging, reading, chess, talking, or people watching from the window. The service is 10/10, with great knowledgeable servers, a lovely owner who often walks through and chats, and tea-tenders who are exceptionally helpful, patient, and super knowledgeable about the products. They offer a wide array of delectable classy teas, including pure leaf, blends, fermented tea, non-caffeinated, and herbal/medicinal teas, with all the fixings like blossom leaves and powdered bark. The matcha is perfectly whisked with a vibrant green hue, smooth and frothy. An hourglass ensures the leaves don't over-extract, giving a clean, crisp flavor. Teas are quite fresh and vibrant. They offer iced tea in large glass bell jars or hot, with plant based milks, and can make tea double strength on request. A book lists everything and what they are known to help heal. Customers enjoy fruit tea from Germany, raspberry leaf, nettle leaf, and customized blends like pregnancy tea, liver detox tea, cold & flu tea, and coffee replacement tea.
