New Ming's Chinese Restaurant has been a family favorite for many years. Customers praise its good food and generous portions. The lunch specials, such as prawns with soft egg chow fun, minced pork with fresh egg lunch special, and beef with satay sauce lunch special, come with steam rice and are often left over for dinner. The chow fun has great wok hay, and the beef with satay sauce is as expected, even with pineapples. Some reviewers find the minced pork not minced but cut into strips, yet still tasty.
Takeout is the only option; orders can be placed for pick up and credit card is accepted with a $20 minimum. Parking is metered street.
Customers also enjoy the huge party trays. A small chow mein and a General Tso chicken feed 10 people with leftovers, while a medium chow mein, fried rice, two chicken dishes, and a small vegetable dish serve a party of 40. The General Tso chicken tastes like San tung chicken wings but in boneless pieces.
Despite the great food, some meals have disappointed. Potstickers, eggrolls, and wonton soup were bland with no taste or flavor. The potstickers were the size of a small potato. The restaurant will close at the end of the month as the owners retire, and many will miss the nostalgic dishes like Salt and pepper fish, Salt and pepper pork chop, thin noodle bean sprout, and chicken fried rice.
