Bocas Del Sol, also known as Miss Shelly's Shack, is located inside Rosie O’Grady’s bar and is considered one of the best kept secrets in San Diego. Access requires being 21+. It is a little hole in the wall spot past the back of the bar, with a walk-up window, and the helpful bartenders can point you to it. The place boasts big flavors of deliciousness and fantastic food.
The menu offers a savory fried chicken sandwich, the Saddle Up Burger described as the best burger ever, and a grown up grilled cheese. Appetizers and sides include hot, fresh fries that are crispy and cheesy with a yummy green sauce and crunchy chicharrones, tater tots, and fried plantains. For wings, the smoked and grilled blackberry wings with the right amount of char are highly recommended. The vibe is hella cool, the drinks are good, and the folks are friendly, with a bar that feels like a place where everybody knows your name. Many customers state they will definitely be going back very soon.
